Is anyone on here from PSU 309? There are a few MK3 billets available and I'd like to get some inside info if possible. And I do realize this is a PS board so please excuse me. My XO approved the transfer and I spoke with the detailer so it looks like it is just up to me now. Thanks for your time.
Want2help...you'll be doing what every MK does in the CG...turn wrenches. They will also expect you to crosstrain with the boat division as a TPSB engineer, and you'll learn a little about perimeter defence and shooting machine guns from the security division. All-in-all...to quote my illustrious friend PO Obie...it is the best unit in the Coast Guard. 24 years of experience in deployments have made it so. It will be a while before another unit beats it's score at SMTC.
That's right, 301(A)/(B) was the Buffalo pukes and their replacements in Jubail...in the little ticky-tacky houses off port and their log cabin galley and tents in the port. They wanted the pretty blue berets too.
oops wrong Jerry! Now-MKCM JERRY Saunders was with 302 in Bahrain - posts here as PSU309MKC. I swear I was replying to a post from him...
Ahh, which is the best PSU? Excluding you original old timers (Gulf Fun 1)....Let's just say that 307 has the best track record around, the facts speak for themselves. We are all damn good though, especially since we are all reservists and are part time coasties, jacks of all trades and can make anywhere a home!! Who does the AD call on when the poop hits the oscillator PSU's.....Even the "all tactical" MSST's can't be self sufficient without the deployable Holiday Inn Express and IHOP. Of course the best rate is the PS rates, no section or div can survive without the "beaches" of the guard! Stay safe and remember "Shoreside is the Strongside"....Semper Paratus
