PS's assigned to M units;
What type of work are you doing? LE ops? Harpat? PI? Invesigations? Just curious what is happening with fellow PS's around the service. How has your mission changed in the last 3-4 years? (without compromising OPSEC) PS1 Sends |

Sorry, only can talk of experience here, not current activities.
As a PS assigned to a Reserve Unit supporting the local MSO, we did Harbor Patrols (HARPATS), conducting Transfer Monitors (HAZMAT and Oil Products), and sometimes assisted the MSO with pollution investigations and spills/releases. We also supplemented the IO shop, doing casualty investigations. We took time off to support local PSU's overseas on operations. PS from 1986 through 2002. This message has been edited. Again, from experience.... I started in MSO San Juan, did HarPats, Pollution, Container Inspections, Vessel Inspections, supported Investigations (groundings, etc.) after 9/11, we switched to Sector, I was a 'Sea Marshall' then moved to PWCS (Ports and Waterways Coastal Security Team) and now I'm back in Vessel Inspections. I also participated in other programs in 'M' field (Sea Partners, On Guard/ America's Waterway Watch) and help train Auxiliarists in 'M' field. Still reserve '84 to present.
