1. V-6 was a designation that was used during World War II indicating that those with V-6 would only serve for the duration and would be discharged as soon as the war was over.

At that time there was no job with any letters like this.

It was probably written like this: DOE, John X. S2c, V-6, USNR
S2c = Seaman Second Class (Other services would call this his rank.) This is the next to lowest rating. The lowest is AS = Apprentice seaman.
USNR = United States Navy Reserve
V-6 = Described above.

2. There are a number of Navy bases in the Williamsburgh, VA area. None match those letters that I have found so far. I will look around some more.

3. I don't think there is much hope of finding this one unless you can post a copy of the form it is on so we can see how it was used, and in what context.

BTW...This should probably have been posted on your first thread since it is the same subject.

PS,

The other thread has a picture of what his uniform would have looked like.

2 could be a convoy designation
3 SOP is either Senior Office Present or Standard Operating Proccedure and is probably the later. Just wild stabes at the past, Westpac Willie

I'm going with WestPac Willie with Senior Officer Present.

Now this may be a bit of a stretch, but imagine the YNC with fat fingers suffering from the after effects of a lively evening before.

Could Ser Upon Ten Nay #3011" be ServRon Ten Navy #3011 ( a letter serial number ?????

Senior Officer Present, ServRon 10, Navy #3011.
