Sundowner is a harsh disciplinarian. Some early captains in the days of sail were so strict that they ordered their crews to return to their ships by sunset if they were sailing in the morning. Bet that helped no one to miss ship’s movement!!!!
I seem to recall that some sailors at Capt Mast could be awarded on base liberty which expired at 1800. Then there is Cinderrela Liberty overseas and the first time at Pearl Harbor in 61 we were up at midnight.
