Go here: "http://www.history.navy.mil/index.html"
This is an official Navy site that ties into the Navy Museum at the Washington Navy Yard.
Someone there may be able to help, and would in all probability take it off your hands.
Whether or not it gets displayed would be another matter.

Google "Destroyer Squadron 21" for your answer. (I got it on the second try after trying "Amphibious Squadron 21").

This it? I actually got there from whyworry's post, but I was already thinking Google. They have contact info on their website. Maybe they would be interested in having such a relic.

Good information here…. On both links… Real Tin Can Sailors serving “in” the “Hunting Dogs” of the Sea.

TMC-SW-RET: Yes, your patch is quite similar with the exception of no "Destroyer Squadron" ribbon, just the "Twenty One / Lion" cast plaque and the "Solomons Onward" ribbon below.
Thanks to all who responded; I'll contact a Navy site to find a new home for the paque.
