Virginia’s Eastern Shore B&Bs offer a free one-night stay

ONANCOCK, VA - Thursday, May 14, 2009 has been declared “Virginia’s Eastern Shore Salutes Our Troops” day by Bed and Breakfast and boutique inn owners of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, in honor of Memorial Day.

Recognizing the sacrifice our troops and their families make every day, 21 bed and breakfasts on Virginia’s Eastern Shore are offering a total of 50 free rooms for one-night stays to active military personnel and their special someone. In addition to a free night in a charming inn, many are offering extras such as dinner for two, free massage, and discounts for extended stays.

In response to the First Lady’s commitment to support military families, Eastern Shore B&Bs devised a way to give the troops what they need most – a quiet respite to spend time with a loved one in one of America’s special places. A secret hideaway tucked between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, this pristine peninsula offers serenity and small town hospitality.

“This is a small token of our thanks for the enormous work our troops do every day,” says Lisa and Kris LaMontagne, former veteran and owners of The Inn at Onancock. “We just wish we had more B&Bs to offer our gratitude to every one.”

Entry is easy. Those interested can go to www.esvatourism.org/salute to read the instructions and complete the entry form. Links to the participating B&Bs are also on the page to help the entrants select their top two choices. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Duplicate entries will be discarded. The deadline for submission is April 16, 2009. Entries will not be accepted after that date. The winners will be selected at random and notified directly by the B&Bs. No purchase necessary to win.
