Yeah, it sure is a "LEGENDARY" unit. Nobody other than you has ever heard of it. Seems to be something like the "Space Shuttle Door Gunners Association".

It appears that 1-8 Cav did indeed receive the PUC in NOV 1966 and again in JUN 1966 without Company A. No where does it single out Company D or any LRRP unit in either citation [I read both].
The OP implies that only the LRRP and/or Co D received the honor when it was the Battalion that was cited.
