This personal item is a bracelet with 39227750 inscribed on the back of it. It has been found by a metal detectorist in an area of a old former Army post near Aukland, New Zealand.

It is the desire of the finder to either re-unite this with the owner or next of kin if possible.

I see that 39,000,000 through 39,999,999 was for the 9th Corps Area (I'm former Air Force so no clue what this means).

Can anyone help find the owner's name that goes with the serial number or any other info to help. Thank you very much.

Pete

Pete,

An honorable endeavor. Good luck. Wish I could help but, I'm sure you're way ahead of me and any ideas I might come up with. That SN should be traceable. www.army.gov?

The serial number in question indicates that the individual was a draftee from the 9th Corps area (WA/OR/ID/MO/WY/NV/AZ/CA and AK (part)). The "3" indicates draftee and the "9" indicates the geographical area where he was inducted. The numbers were alloted under the Selective Service Training Act of 1940.
