I don't think the government should do a damn thing. This problem is purely economic. Good old supply and demand. People continously ***** about the price of gas yet....amazingly, it doesn't keep them from driving across town for a bowl of ice cream. As long as the demand remains so damn high the price will continue to go up. Ok....so what would happen to the price if America tightened its belts and reduced consumption like some experts are suggesting? Nothing.....China, India, and the rest of the developing world would eat up the difference in a few years and we'd be back to square one.

I think the only way out of this prediciment will be for the price to rise dramatically (100-200%) in the next few years thereby making fossil fuels so expensive that people literally have to choose between eating and driving. At that point the funding and motivation to find alternative means will become so great that cold-fusion, corn cars etc. etc. will get ironed out to an acceptable level of efficency. Right now, as much as we go on and on about alternative means, no one really bothers to spend the time to truly develop and implement these future methods because oil is still cheap. Competition forces prices to drop, right now oil has no competetion because its still a cheap enough commodity that no one (except a few hippie scientiests..haha) is really willing to put the money, time, and effort towards creating a competition. People need to stop looking at the government for a solution and start looking at their own spending habits.

Always... ... ...

...follow the money and percentage(s) of 100%.

break, break

..like wood. I use the best wood for outdoor signs---redwood (which isn't an endangered species, which grows alive and well for the NON-ENDANGED spotted spotted owl to live in.

..and according to documentation, according to how the vast majority of species adjust to change, spotted owls are taking up residence in K-Mart signs.

Shi(f)t or change pots.

This is not poilitically driven, I am pissed off about Bush and was letting off steam about the Idiot.

And this has nothing to do with Obama or Hillary, this is strictly about the current President. Whoever out of the 3 is elected, we will see, and I might post a rant about them!

This has nothing to do with logic either, again it is a RANT!

I have no Agenda other than to tell Bush to stick it up his corn hole.

Who said anything about this being an intelligent piece on the subject. THIS IS A RANT!

Hey Slater, it sounds to me like you let the level of alcohol in the bloodstream drop to a very dangerous level. "Alcogycemia" walk over to shennigans and fix that. Wink

I agree, I had been going to Annie Baileys, but Shaninigan's is much closer to my house...I will have to keep my Acohol Level up...especially that Sheetz on Oregon Pike and that Hindu Gas Station down the road that is always 10 cents higher than down by the Outlets at the WaWa!

In 1999 Gas was .90 cents a gallon. 8 Yrs later it is $3.80. I understand the economics of supply/demand and the weak dollar. Emerging world economies, and other factors.

Who has been in charge over the last 8 yrs of our Governement? Do they have oil ties?

Because Bush has absolutley NOTHING to do with the price of oil? Not one iota of responsibility?

Is he in charge of the country? I would rather it be a domestic supplier than Oil that funds terroristic states and OPEC any day!

If a dem had been prez for the last 8 who do you think they'd be blaming? Right. I gave up arguing with these xtreme rightie types, can't win, it's a religion, and they see everything in black & white, you disagree and you're a "librul", see? easy, no thinking required. Watch, they'll see this post and immediately brand me a demodummy librul, but they know zilch about me, but it doesn't matter.
