Birthday is in a week how is everyone celebrating? Unfortunatly for me I know of 0 Marines in the Jacksonville, FL. Area so my GF will have to tolerate the Marine Corps Hymn playing on loop all day.

Last year we bought a table, 65.00 a head. This year it went up to 85.00 a head. My hub used to plan the balls here in Ft. Worth till he retired. Never cost anyone over 35.00 a head/couple. So this year we are going out to a really nice place to eat. Prices go up for the retirees and I just don't understand it. We have less money now than when Dennis was active....

Wife is working that day so I will more than likely just hoist a cold one at the Post and give a hearty Semper Fi to those within ear shot.

We Marine vets in the Philly area have Cookies Tavern to meet and greet. Several of us are heading down there in the early PM.

Later we may end up in "The Tailhook" bar in NE Philly, after eating a cheese steak at Geno's or Pat's.

The other option is to form up at the home of one of the Vietnam Marine grunts (2/9) and hang out there.

Road tripping down to Arlington, VA to attend the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Marine Corps War Memorial. I understand there might be a few Marines active and otherwise in the area. Big Grin

Heading down to Triangle, VA afterwards to take in the Marine Corps Museum.

Semper Fi and Happy Birthday Marines!

After the ceremony, head over to the Virginian Suites...it's a block behind the Iwo Jima Memorial. There is at least one reunion (2/9) happening there. I think the hospitality rooms are on the 4th floor. They may not be open until that evening.

Larry, George and I know all about the Virginian Suites. Bruna and I will be there for 4 days, November 9-13. Ask for Lombardo. It's under Bruna's name. Big Grin
