This year, will be the second annual gathering of members from the MODF and the Squadbay. We'll be meeting and rooming at the Virginian Suites, in Arlington Virginia, just across the street from the Marine Memorial.
Now, for those who've made their reservations, it's be good to see you again or to meet you.
for those whom profess a "kinship" and an esprit DE corps, now is the time to show your intentions.
we had a ball last year, and again, this year there will be lots to do and see. The VVA of NY is hosting the parade for the 25 th anniversary of the "Wall." HBO's owner and CEO, a 1st Cav, Nam Vet, is hosting all the shows on the mall and other places. Tom Hanks may be MCing the big show.
Come on, Marines. Bring your wives, girlfriends, and for one or two of you, your boyfriends. Eek Big Grin Beer
Drop the hostility for a few days and join in the celebration of the Corps and all Veterans, everywhere.

I will be attending the festivities. I will be staying at the Marriott in Falls Church, VA because they gave the Marine Corps League a great price. Reduced from $256.00 a night to $90.00 a night. It is also where the 2nd MCL national Marine Corps Ball will be held on Saturday night. Tickets are $100.00, Dress is formal MCL or business suit. Women formal also.

MCL will host the televised Arlington Cemetary goings on on Veteran's Day. Monday is the trip to the Marine Corps Museum.

Might run into a few of you and might not, however, have a great time. This is my first D.C. trip. Wish I could stay longer and see some of the museums, Masonic sites and the Scottish Rite Temple but my wife's health dictates that I return quickly. Her sister can only care for her for 4 days 3 nights.

HEY! Vic!!!!!

I can't wait to see my niece's face when we arrive at Reagan and see you and Bruna, and then the Marine Memorial that evening because as soon as we check in we are walking over for my annual prayer.

Then Friday, we go to the Marine Museum. Beer All new to most of us but I don't get to see my face (Thank god). Eek

Then the next morning, the Marine Wreath laying Ceremony, where she will be overwhelmed by the many Marines and the ceremony.

She will be meeting many more that I have met before through this sight and the Squadbay. She is looking forward to seeing you and Bruna again. Applause Smile

I'll be there! Big Grin

My new car came with a navigation system, maybe I won't get lost this time like last year. Although getting lost can be fun sometimes. Big Grin

Reserve Friday for the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico and Saturday at Arlington Ridge for the wreath laying ceremony. I understand that this year the Marine Corps League is hosting the Veteran's Day ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. Probably be more Marines in the area then ever. It is looking like it will be a very cool time. Be there! Big Grin

I'd love to go to DC and go through the museum again. It takes more than one day to see everything!

I will be taking my wife on a cruise this year for the birthday ball.

The ball would have been cheaper but...heck, she's my wife. Gotta keep her happy.

Blue and grey bar? Haven't seen it. However the 7/11 is across the street. And the beer is always COLD!!! These apartments have been here forever, just cost a little more than the 60s.

Try the Sheraton National which is at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Orme Street. They usually have a discount. Years ago, I lived across the street from the property that the existing Sheration was built on during two of my three tours at HQMC, when it was an empty lot.

As always, I'm in the area. Tracy and I have one of the suites this year, so there will be a couch and deck space. Anybody is welcome.

Please remember, if you want a tour of the five sided cage. You will need two photo ID's. Big Grin

I thought you were going to say, before HQMC was built, you were stationed here : ). I know we are getting old, but not that darn old. I'll have a spare bedroom that weekend, if anyone needs it.
