Does anyone want a WWII and Korean War vintage set of dress blues. I can not bear the thought of throwing them away.

Gunny, why give them away?

why not pass them on to a friend or relative.

or if you want to preserve it somewhere where it will be appreciated, you could donate it to museum at MCRD San Diego.

Although I do collect uniforms, and will take them if you are going to toss them...

I concur, is there anyone in your family to pass them to, or a local museum or the like to donate them too?

Who did they belong to?

There's also the National Marine Corps Museum

http://www.usmcmuseum.org/

They would live on forever there.

If you will send your address I will mail the Blues. There is a set of orders in the box. They will
explain who they belong to. They are not mine. They use to belong to a friend of my sister. When he
passed away no one in his family wanted them. When they were left over from a garage sale the family
was going to throw them away. There are pictures from the Korean War and some black and white pictures
from WWII.

Thanks

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.

My Dad lives in Stafford, and has friends who work at the Museaum. Lt, I can make arrangements to get the Blues to the museum if that is what the Gunny would like.

I'm sorry. But that just gets me. I'm a family history buff. I would kill to have a uniform worn by my father, grandfather, great-uncle, etc. And to have pictures and a set of orders to go with the Dress Blues? Damn. Some kid in that family will turn 40 one day and realize just what an idiot they were in 2008. Mad
