I'm trying to find pictures of the memorial service for Jeffry A Rogers, KIA on November 16, 2005. Anyone has any photos, please contact me at jandlace@hotmail.com.
I was with C/1/1 1967 RVN and we use to say "it dont mean nothin" to keep our minds on other things and not let death try to take us too. When someone got dinged we had the same saying to keep the wound from us and not think about it.
I am not a MARINE I just married one. My husband served twice in Iraq. The first time he was gone I gave birth to our second child and first son. I can't tell you of the fear that grips a spouse the minute you step out of the house to go to a war zone and it stays with us till we hold you in our arms. Then we say a prayer of thanks for your return. Thank you Marines for your the freedom that you gave us with your lives they were not in vane. My son will know of the sacrifices that were made 11 days after he was born.
I'm not sure how long I have been reading this, crying.........thinking how fortunate we are as Americans to have the US Marines. Currently I am caregiver for my dad, and it is an honor to be so to a man who is facing death like a true Marine - Face On. I am so proud to be the daughter of a Marine, and aunt of a Marine.
May all named here rest in peace in eternity, knowing we are resting in peace tonight.
