When Democrats lose to McCain, will they sue?
You do know that John McCain was not born in the U.S. right? But he can run for President. But, will Democrats sue, when McCain beats them in Nov? |

You don't have to be born in the United States. You have to be born a U.S. citizen. Being born overseas to American parents is not a disqualification, as you are an American citizen at birth.

Not quite and according to who? The Constitution says nothing about "being born a citizen" It specifically says "Natural born citizen". Many believe that "natural born" implies born "in" the U.S., while others think it means "naturalized" meaning by "law". Of course many naturalized citizens are preculded because they also weren't born of U.S. parents. However, the issue of naturalized means by law vs. by birth. Being born to parents, living outside the U.S. is not "natural born" but rather "naturalized" (by law). Two different things. This issue is contested and there are two sides to this issue that will be settled in court someday. Many scholors believe the constituion means "born in the U.S." (i.e. natural born; by birth) NOT "naturalized" (citizen by law). The concensus (at present) is as you have stated. But it's not clear and not decided. This is not a new debate. Here is a good article on the subject. It has been going on for decades. You can find all kinds of debate on this issue. But the question is moot, since the point of the poll is what Democrats will do. Being right has very little to do with Dem thinking. McCain won't be the test case, as he was born in U.S. controlled territory. But this remains an undecided question that the courts will have to rule on someday. |

AS far as I am concerned any body that servs in the military and puts his life on the line for this country is a full and first class citizen. Period the end. And should have all rights and Privileges as such including running for any office he or she dam^ well chooses to.
I also think the Electoral college is out dated and should be done away with. The reasoning behind the electoral college does not exist anymore. Make it a really democratic election and count the votes. The one who gets the most wins! Plain and Simple!! Probably to plain and simple for our politicians to wrap thier feable minds around! So I Recon: Probably not in my life time!! |

That is an interesting point, If Arnold had served, would he still be restricted from running for Prez? Afraid so, they have to change the US Constitution/Add another Amendment. All I know is if McCain loses, I'll go, TOLD YA fruggers! |
