As an MST reporting to an MSST, how do you go about getting assigned to either the waterways or the force protection side of operations? Is it strictly needs of the unit or do you tend to have a choice?

Your best bet for being assigned to MLE/FP is to attend the DOG Assessment and Selection in April. Otherwise, you will likely be assigned to Waterside. Here in NY, we pull people from Waterside only after they have been to the Assessment and through our Green Team.
