I am leaving for basic on October 13th and requesting to be sent to 29 Palms so I can be with my fiance, also a marine. Is being engaged enough to guarantee me being assigned there? I know if we are actually married I'll be sent there for sure, but we aren't ready for that yet. Any advice or opinions?
