Every now and then people pass out but I've never heard of anyone dying in there. It burns your eyes and nose and when you come out you will have tons of snot, saliva and coughing. About 5 - 10 minutes later you're all better! Bring a hankie or two in your pocket.

Good description ACG! Applause

The only thing you have to worry about is the jackass next to you who decides to panic and run for the door. We had one. She ran for the door, knocked over one of our ADI's and we all got bent for it. We all wanted to string her up for that. What a little puddin' pie she was.

I can speak for Marine Corps Bootcamp that when we come out you have your arms stretched out to your sides walking in a circle. You walk around there for a few minutes and the stuff wears off. No biggy. You've probably had Onions burn your eyes worse than that.

Word of Advise: DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE, not with your hands or your sleeve or nothing. It only makes it worse.

Re: people dying. It happens, rarely - most always, to those who have concealed a past history of asthma, severe allergies, or other respiratory condition(s) in their enlistment/commissioning process.

So tell the truth on your medical stuff.
