Fulltime pay and medical benefits.

As far as time, that's up to your state. Some states don't have a problem releasing people to go AD; others, you might as well look at your ETS date.

I was in the State of Virginia when I transferred from the Virginia National Guard to active Army. It was not the easiest thing to do because I was told before I put my paperwork in that they rarely allow national guard members transfer to active duty. I ignored that rumor and put my paperwork in anyway. I think it took me about a year to get transferred to active Army. Yes, the transfer took a while but I was able to eventually go on active duty. Good luck to you in your venture to go ACTIVE.
