Thanks for the post Mr 1110. Now the question is, what specifically are the contract changes with respect to this? What contract items that were awarded in previous years are not awarded this time? How has the money been differently distributed to ICGS, and the parent companies Lockheed and Northrop. My best guess from all the posts I've read and articles I've read online, it seems Lockheed has the most to lose since it had a bulk of the responsibility to provide the systems integration and engineering effort. It seems like the Coast Guard has taken over that integrator role, hence funding to Lockheed may be cut for the systems integration effort.

This may be something only the Smith's need to know, not the Jones's. Just a thought.

Good point, but is the information classified or sensitive that a private citizen could not find it out?

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded the first contract under its new management structure for the $24 billion Deepwater modernization program, the agency on Wednesday told Dow Jones Newswires.

It was told to the news agency. Therefore, no, there isn't a classified anything here.

MKgearhead: I was referring to the total amount awarded for the Deepwater contracts and the amount awarded to each contract within the Deepwater program. Now we could find out how much total was awarded by roughly how much Congress appropriated for the Deepwater program. I imagine that 10 to 15% of that total amount goes to the Coast Guard for administration.

That's all public information. The CG has no "black" budget that I'm aware of. You can get all the appropriations info from www.house.gov or www.whitehouse.gov/OMB

Okay, so it would be in the specific legislation language the specific amount that goes to the U.S. Coast Guard for administration of the Deepwater contract.

I doubt we would be able to know how much Lockheed gets from Integrated Coast Guard Systems. I wonder what percentage of the costs for the National Security Cutter go to Lockheed Martin for C4ISR electronics.
