WE, as Veteran's understand what needs to be done!!! The hard part is convincing our ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC!!!!!!!! While I HOPE this will be handled correctly, I FEEL that, just like veteran's from previous wars, WILL BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG!!!!!!

Nothing new here, with the exception of probably a brief program shortly after WW-II, for the most part, getting any recognition for PTSD is pretty hard, not impossible, but pretty hard.
The best people to talk to are your vet rep at the V.A. and a rep from one of the vet organizations like, DAV, VFW, AMERICAN LEGION, AMVETS, that's their jobs and they can usually help you out a lot...

Bear in mind that the link is to an opinion piece, not a policy statement - no matter how true we all may believe it to be.

If the RAND Corp.'s report carries any water, it WILL add $$$ to the mental health/TBI side of the cost of these wars. Congress, for what it's worth, does tend to take RAND reports a little more seriously than "mere" Pentagon or JCS reports of the same data.

They hire some very smart people, and don't have any azzes to kiss or axes to grind. I don't blame them for taking RAND more seriously. Cool
