So we can't play hangman anymore these days? On a serious note, this sounds like more B.S. like that false accusation case at Duke University.

The Blacks in this Country need to just get over it. They can go around calling eachother the (N) word and that seems to be all fine.

I work with a black who keeps crying racism. White man this, white man that. I'm not even white, yet he disgusts me with his hatred of anything non-black. No one dares call him out on it either, oh no. Might get a lawsuit against you.

It's not just african americans, it's all races. There is an asian where I work who keeps crying racism every time someone says or does something he "perceives" as racist. It get's old and can be tiring to get him to understand it's not about him.
We created this situation and now it has come back to bite us....

This just happened Thur. In my neighborhood there is a timeshare a family was here last week renting it. On Thursday morning my wife saw them on a neighbors property with a video camera, she asked them what they were doing. They were asking why there is a noose hanging from an oak in the corner of the neighbors yard. My wife said it was for the neighbors ex-wife. Then they asked here if she was offended(my wife is Asian), she said NO. They were offended they stated and exclaimed your neighbor is a racist! It went downhill from there, they told my wife she was naive and she be offended. She stated how can you call someone a racist when you never met them? And that they need to get a life. Now, interesting fact that they were filming my wifes replies w/o permission and trespassed on private property. Later they talked to my neighbor with a camera and asked him if he was a racist. He laughed and walked away, ironically he was drinking a beer with 3 latinos and 2 blacks and 4 whites, when they asked him.

Now the people complaining were latino.

The point is there is always someone looking to stir shiite up no matter what. And these people were looking for something to be offended by, and of course they spoke for all minorities.

Regardless of whether it was intended to be a racist message, or something else, it is inappropriate in a workplace. A commissioned officer, and civilian police detective should especially know better. It's called common sense.

I would think the person hanging the noose is the one stirring up shiite...If one is really advocating "get over it and move forward", than this incident would have never happened in the first place...

I know not a one African-American that calls themselves or others the N word, so if they object that is their right and their own standards,,,surely in the get over mantra...how about not bringing it up...That is just an excuse to spew racism without consequences because one believes they really did not mean it that way...(yeah right) Those are deep rooted from the gut...

Besides who is always hanging these nooses?? In the first place...

Exactly! I am positive in his professional compacity, rules of conduct etc...He knew this would be a "no-no" to say the least....He put his ownself in this problem, he started it himself...When all he had to do was his paid job, rules, regulations included...

Being african american I agree that WE need to get over this racism bullshit. If somebody hangs a noose. Great life goes on. Why the **** should i let somebody else's negativity and ignorance mess up my day. You can hang all the nooses you want but the second somebody thries to do something to my loved ones or me then all hell is gonna break loose. But there should be no tolerance whatsoever for racism in the military or civilian workplace. Even if it wasn't meant to be degrading.Great situational awareness on that Lt and other guys part....****** bags .I do believe that she may be overreacting just a tad bit but hey that's her not me. I'd be the guy to simply take the noose and throw it in the trash can. People are just to soft these days. In the words of kanye west" Racism still alive they just be concealing it" but in this case not so much. Damn you don Imus........

Really? Your comment sounds racist to me.

The article does not state when the noose was hung. The only, possible legitimate reason I can think of to hang a noose in an office space, is, if it is part of an approved Halloween decoration, along with other Halloween decorations. Other than that, the guy that hung it must be a complete idiot.

Yeah but throwing it into the trash is just like sitting at the back of the bus and not saying ****. Me personally, I would have took the noose, looked him square in the eyes and asked him did he put it there and what did he mean by it... Easy to point out the liars face to face. If I honestly felt like he didn't do it, i'll throw it in the trash and keep it moving. If I felt like he was lying, I laugh cause he curled up like a little b***h when I approached him face to face, man to man. I won

Sorry, but I do see black americans call each other the n word, up close, not on TV... It's distressing, because it just feeds the fire. Maybe it's due to ignorance, and not seeing the big picture on how harmful it is, I don't know why, really. But it is unnecessary.

And, yes, I said black american, not african-american. I am a white american, and I have friends who are hispanic and asian. I hate the dancing around what is politically correct. I am exasperated that there are ambiguities such as the National Assn fo the Advancement of Colored People, but, if you use the term "colored person", you are labeled racist. Same thing with the United Negro College Fund. Personally, I don't care if someone is lavender, with pretty pink polka dots , but I do care if you are a decent human being. Racism disgusts me. Bad behavior disusts me.

HOWEVER, I am a bit biased toward liberals.....

You know what really sad? It's all these responses that downplay racism as an inconveinience to white people, how many white people have been publicly lynched? Beaten by police. How many affluent white neighborhood have the police discharging hundreds of rounds in them? People, racism is EVERYONES problem. And until EVERYONE addresses it, it will continue to tear this country apart. It's the mindless thoughtless comments that I've read here that only serve to inflame an already bad situation. Maybe it time to stop and think about what you're saying before you put down ink. Be a part of the solution, not the problem.
