I've been tracking HuffPost's daily GWOT coverage, which (to my surprise) turns out to be pretty impressive in it's scope and depth ... here are this mornings' HuffPost GWOT-related links:

  • Gates: NATO Likely to Send More Troops for Afghan War
  • Haaretz: Iran and Israel Hold Secret Nuke Talks
  • Rising Islamist Movements Challenge Secularism In Turkey
  • Biden Responds To Cheney's Afghan War Criticism
  • Sudan Sentences Women To 20 Lashes For Wearing Pants
  • Somali Insurgents Threaten Regional War
  • Iran Delays Uranium Decision
  • Lone Cleric Defies Iran's Leaders
  • Fresh Violence in Pakistan as Suicide Bombers Strike
In comparision, Drudge and Limbaugh are keeping to their pitiful policy of "none or negative" war-coverage.

Bottom Line: the far-right has abandoned the war effort.

Huffington has to pay to use these other real news companies, to publish their articles.

Everything listed can be found on the internet previous to her scavenging. Often, more than two days in advance.

Whatever pays the bills.

You must have utter contempt for Small Wars Journal ... which does all that HuffPost does ... and then SWJ doubles-down with *more* stories ... now *that* IMHO is a site that is worthy of respect!!!

SWJ URL: "http://smallwarsjournal.com/"

Yeah, SWJ is serving up the cross-aisle "beef" ...

SWJ thought-provoking beef: "http://smallwarsjournal.com/blog/2009/10/toward-a-kilcullenbiden-plan/"

Meanwhile Drudge at present has *zero* war-related news ... Limbaugh also scores *zero* for war-related news ...

Instead both Drudge and Limbaugh have become engines for cranking out far-right hysteria ... with no thought to the requirements of our soldiers.

Peter3_1's post reminds me of how lucky America is ... we have tens of millions of citizens who are so smart that no-one can teach them anything ...

Of course, the likes of Matt Drudge and Rush Limbaugh serve these folks mighty well ... by not even *trying* to teach these folks anything.

Matt Drudge's sole war-related story today:

Morale dips for American marines in Afghanistan

Thanks for nothing, Matt Drudge.   Mad  Mad  Mad

On another thread I posted about how the The Army's Heritage and Education Center has already scheduled lectures on The Fourth Star (*.mil link).

Applause Applause Applause

Good ... IMHO that's the sober-minded coverage this war requires ... and we *don't* need that Drudge/Limbaugh "nothing-but-negative" kind.  Mad  Mad  Mad

The Drudge/Limbaugh brand of "Morale dips for American marines in Afghanistan" war-coverage is worse than useless ... worse than irrelevant ... worse than hateful IMHO.   Mad  Mad  Mad

don't give a rats petunia for Drudge/Limbaugh and it seems not too many on the forum do. For the record you're debating yourself often.

Making Huff and Puff star status while being no more that a xerox machine with a paper jamb. Not considered journalism in any form.

If there are tens of millions of voters getting most of their news from Drudge, Limbaugh, and RedState ... then our soldiers are in trouble ... `cuz democracy doesn't work when the electorate is ignorant.

Seriously, were are you getting your war-news, rayevinsonsr? SWJ is always a starting-point for me.

And have you read those articles? I would hope that the Troops serving do not consider those stories other than biased opininions or they will feel deserted by the American People.

To be honest, your topic should read: "Huffpost continues it's in-depth Far Left biased war-coverage opinion; Linbaugh and Drudge continue to contradict and oppose the Far-Left ideology"
Walter Cronkite's use of his news reporting doomed the South Vietnamese when he 'lied' and interjected his opinion as factual news; the Huffpost wants similar indoctrination of the populace.
Indoctrination and 'Teaching' are not the same!!

For the left the terms are synonymous, which is why you have school children singing the praises of Chairman Barack.
