I would like to know two things.

1. Why the difference in VA pay by state?
I think the amount should be the same for all states.

2. Is the amount listed a monthly or yearly amount?

I would guess the cost of living per state differs? Perhaps?

However, I thought payscales on the federal levels was across the board, so to speak?

You need to be more specific. Fed pay scales are fixed and based on a nationwide schedule as are disability compensation payments.

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause.

I think I have seen this before. The VA disability raters vary greatly from state to state with some more likely to grant disability and higher levels while others are less likely.

Hope that makes sense.

All right! Pay attenton class. Go to this site for VA disability payment rates. Note that there is no difference for what state you are in.

Payments cited here are payments made by individual states, not VA. When in doubt, google it!~! Have a good day!~! Wink Cool

I see Arkansas in the list. They do not do jack for our vets. No way are they going to pay any kind of disability at all.

Contrary to SLDO's assertion, I don't believe these are state payments. I believe that what has been done is the addition of payments being made to people in each of the 50 states divided by the number of people receiving payments in each state. I don't think the numbers mean much of anything though one might argue that the assignment of disability ratings among states is potentially uneven. That's a pretty healthy spread between New Mexico and Ohio.
