Probably due to his track record as Gitmo lagerkommandant Jay (piss on that Ko-ran)Hood is receiving the kibosh from the civilian government of Pakistan. They seem to think his CV might be offensive to some of the mullahs. If there is one thing the Paks don't need advice on, it's jails. Somebody at state, or the army, or the White House was working well above their level of competence to think the General's appointment wouldn't be like a stick in the eye to even moderate muslims. Yep the P-stains are definitely sensitive about humane treatment and human rights.. I think the book 'Lost Horizons' was originally s'posed to be set in Rawalpindi, then it was decided that snow would be easier to film against should it ever become a movie....

Well, we HAVE been stupid in Pakistan. Appointing an ambassador who you SHOULD know in advance will offend is not exactly bright. I dunno. My brother got hate mail because of this site. I've warned him to expect more. But then again, my family consists of me and my brothers family. I might not post my real name, (and by posting photographs, allow people to find out more) and identity if I had a big, easily terrorised family. My brothers perfectly capable of taking care of himself, but if Grandma or Aunt Louise were still alive, I suspect I would feel differently. Dave |

Someone is reminding me that I have a family...  Well, I warned my brother. He can take care of himself, or as he put it, "Don't worry about me, do whatever you think is the right thing." But as I said, I have only my brother and his family to worry about, and no Little Old ladies to be intimidated. Perhaps Popsig has a larger family then I, and wishes to spare them these kinds of letters that my family recieved?
