Just what makes you think Democrats don't also own guns? "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies." - T. Jefferson |

Not only that I don't use the words "Under God" when I recite the Pledge of Allegiance. It wasn't part of the Pledge when the good Sister Mary DeSales taught me in the First Grade, and I am not saying "Under God" in it now. In fact, the entire Pledge should be changed to something simlar to this "I pledge allegiance to the people of the United States of America / and to the republic for which we stand / one nation, part of one world / with liberty and justice for all." "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies." - T. Jefferson |

NY Term Limits is a joke here.
In NYC the Citizens TWICE in a row voted it in for the Mayor and City Council Last year the Republican Mayor and Democratic City Council (led by Christine Quinn) voted to ignore the law and allow themselves to continue to run for the same offices. Completely ignored the wishes of the electorate. With Bloomberg able to spend untold Millions to keep himself in office, and sending funds towards targeted City council people for Pork, he gets to be Mayor for Life like a NY version of Idi Amin Dada, or Papa Doc Duvalier. Earlier this week he "ordered" the Governor Patterson to send NY State Police to the Senators homes, drag them out and out them into the Assembly until they vote the NYC school control bill HIS way. Make no mistake, Bloomberg has all the makings of a Tyrant. |

Best mayor this city has ever had.
peopel tend to forget while Rudy was mayor on 9/11 it was Mike who lead the city AFTER 9/11. We easily could have went into the hole, but we didnt. Yeah he is rough around the edges but he gets things done. And he's right about mayoral control of the schools and its hard for me to listen to those slug in the NYS Senate lecture people about fair governance and about making sure "parents" are involved. They didnt give a damn about the will of the people of NY for a whole month!

Thats funny, after 9/11 I saw Rudy at the WTC every day, no sign of Bloomberg. Funny thing also was when Rudy did say maybe he should stay longer, Bloomberg threw a hissy fit-"Term Limits", now Bloomberg says its ok for him to be leader for life
I consider Bloomberg as bad as Beame, and Dinkins, but at least those 2 had manners and didnt order people around like NYC was a fiefdom. Rudy was a Pr ick, of that there's no doubt. But NYC needed a Pr ick then. Dinkey had allowed crime to become rampant while in office. He even paid for a funeral for a Washington Heights Drug Dealer (Kiko Garcia)killed while trying to grab a cops gun. and gave us the Crown Heights fiasco were the Police were ordered not to interfere with the rioting, the Korean Store owners racial boycott, 300,000 NYC jobs gone, And as a last minute screw over for NY, gave the sanitation union large hikes and gave away acres of Flushing Meadows park for the US Tennis Association. Were you aware that Dinkins signed off on a ruling that everytime a Commercial Airliner overflew the US Open ,NYC had to pay the Association 200K? After that we needed an Azzhole to be the hard azz to fix the city and that was Rudy. I would never vote for him for any other office though. He was a scum bag to his wife, and several other issues would preclude me from ever supporting him. |

Doggie you know I was talking about from Jan 2002 on down. Bloomie has been in charge. City is better then when Rudy left office. Bloomberg has been the man.
And the stadium deal from the USTA is by all accounts best stadium deal any city has ever gotten. So giving Dinkens grief about it based on Rudy's whining cause his Yankees didnt get a stadium at the time is wrong. Read about that deal and you will see we make in 2 weeks what the two baseball teams stadiums made for us in a year.

I'm not a Yankees fan so I'm not whining about them getting or not getting a stadium, do try to keep up.
I'm talking about the Fact that Dinkins signed off on a deal whereby when a commercial airliner overflys (from Laguardia) the US Open during play in Flushing Meadows it costs NYC (and you and I as Taxpayers) 200K to be paid to the US tennis Association. Considering NYC has no say with the FAA where an Airplane can fly, he set us up for continual fail. If you think that deal was great I have a Bridge in Brooklyn to sell you, cheap. |

Bloomberg repeadedly stated he supports term limits. That he is a two term Mayor. Bloomberg repeadedly lied about guns and gun laws. Even taking out ad's in other states with my money to push his lies "Bloomberg funded and pushed TV commercials in Virginia that exploit the families of some victims in the Virginia Tech shooting. But the families spout Bloomberg’s lies by saying things like their lost family members would be alive if Virginia closed the so-called “gun show loophole.” Bloomberg repeadedly claims that he built more affordable housing than any other Mayor. True, if you define affordable housing as less than 10k a month rent. Bloomberg has cratively banned legal demonstrations by offering people protesting, for example the Republican Convention, a nice ball park on Randals island. Bloomberg has hailed both his "reforms" of education AND the success of Charter Schools. Claiming that scores have sky-rocketed under his control. All lies from A to Z “http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/education/2009/07/15/2009-07-15_ed_standards_flunk_the_test.html” “http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/education/2009/07/19/2009-07-19_charters_pawn_off_flunking_kids_ps_big_sez.html” “http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/education/2009/06/07/2009-0607_can_you_do_these_math_tests_with_easier_exams_this_year_news_puts_you_to_challen.html” In fact, there are not enough electrons in my computer to list his lies. **************** As I said, I had little or no use for Guiliani, but Guiliani had the virtue of honesty. As an active member of one Community Group and the Founder of another, I can tell you that he has made great strides in totally destroyed my Community of the Lower East Side. Changing the zoning laws to allow high rise luxury housing, driving out Mom and Pop stores, and replacing them with boutiques and fast food franchises. Much worse than Guiliani. Or take what he's doing in Whitestone, College Point - Destroying that community as well. "Redeveloping" Coney Island, so that it will be some sort of Club Med, and no working people need come there anymore. And he's the guy behind Ratner and the disgraceful Downtown Brooklyn development. But I'll give you this, the man knows how to build an image. He beats Guiliani hands down in that department. There's an old expression for this: "Give me an honest enemy over a dishonest friend." Written for Bloomberg. And his Congestion plan for Manhattan? The Biggest tax hike on the Middle Class and the poor that have ever been attempted by anyone! It would have cost every Middle Class commuter an extra 3k right off the bat, and the extra charges would have also been passed down to the working poor as well. Dave |

Snipe Bloomberg was a Republican most of his term as Mayor. He even spoke at the RNC in 2004.
He quit the party cause as Bill Maher said it: "one party shifted to the right, the other party went insane" He had enough of the crazy people in the RNC.

Bloomberg, who made his debute by opposing Guiliani running for a Third Term, has made speech after speech supporting term limits, and the TWO referendums that the City voters passed. But of course, now that it's HIS turn, term limits are a bad thing...

....not much of an answer to write home about....so once again for clarity, what is the lie in the following article you posted as proof Mr B lied? “http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/education/2009/07/15/2009-07-15_ed_standards_flunk_the_test.html” ...this time try to at least make a point.
