He is going to be caught soon. Mexican authorities and Interpole will not fail. Let's just hope he's captured alive so that he can face his charges and the consequences.

Im glad Mixican authorities decided to do the correct thing. This man may have been a Mexican born citizen but he does not represent the people of Mexico by any streatch of the imagination. Its funny how the Mother is looking to fault the establishment. Even if he was a victim of a false accusation, that is no cause for murder. The mans mother should think about the girls family and take that into consideration. I suspect he will be apprehended soon. He is better off turning himself in because if he is apprehended by a bounty hunter and delivered to the US we would not be bound to honor Mexican authorities.

It was her mother who made the comments.

The Mexican Government should have acted ASAP, as he was legally an American citizen...not a Mexican citizen anymore. We need to think about this in our future dealings with the Mexican government. This piece of s*** is not only guilty of adultery against his own family; but is, also, the prime suspect in this most brutal double murder of a woman & fellow Marine, along with her unborn infant....

I've known for a long time that Mexico has no death penalty, but it's good that they do have an extradition treaty with the US, with the reservation that those extradited will not face death in either the US civil or military court systems.
Lauterbach needs to be found and extradited to the US to face his accusers. If he's found guilty, I believe he should get LWOP in either a civilian or military maximum security prison.

As long as he gets LWOP that is a fair trade off for not executing him but if they really want to pick him up in Mexico, some one needs to offer a reasonable award. $10K and his *** wouldn't be safe anywhere south of the border.

this is such a sad story..that poor female Marine and her unborn child. I think they should fry his butt when they catch him and they will! He's a very sick individual and needs to be locked up for a very long time

I wish I had as much faith in the Mexican Authorities as others do. The legal system, law enforcement agencies, and the judicial system in many parts of Mexico are corrupt. Drug cartels operate openly and with impunity in these areas. If this scum-bag links in with the druggies, it may be a long time before he is captured.

I have problems with this case on so many levels but the Mexican GVMT really drug it's feet on this one!
I have problems with the Corps not watching this man, the civilian police not bringing him in earlier, and something that really bothers me and I might be off base with this one but, The Marines lost one of their own ( the victim) yet the only reward put up was from the FBI! Why doesn't the Corp put up some money to find this POS. The more money offered, the better chance someone in a poverty stricken country will turn on him. Just my two cents.
