Is Mr. Hamilton the Cobb nomination?

I believe he still has the record here for the largest ridden wave. Teahupoo not the tallest though deadly thick and shallow.
You sure know your waves, NAVBLK4!

Teahupoo's deadly thickness comes because the wave breaks on a shelf that rises abruptly from deep water.

The effect is mighty scary even on small days. Eek

Remarkably enough, Cobb Seamount's shelf rises abruptly from deep water, just like Teahupoo's shelf.

Prediction: Cobb breaks breaks like Teahupoo. But 8X higher. Eek

LOL diesel08. I was referring to my former work sites though. AIT, Germany and Ft. Hood.

Every year the Billabong Corporation sponsors an "XXL wave-riding contest".

This link alone reduces America's work-place efficiency by 0.001%! Smile

(This post is in accord with my "lighten-up" pledge, Jade_Gate! Smile )

You can buy commercial now of less than 1 meter.

There was a commercial site that used to offer satellite imagery for sale if you gave them the co-ordinates and the fee. Resolution was down to 30 meters or better but google is at 30 meters and yes, you can find your house and look at it but that's about it. Find something else to worry about, you could tell where Area 51 was by the lack of it on the map...if nothing is where something should be then there is something covered up, but area 51 isn't one of them!

I've Google Earth before. If one would notice, there is a date in the corner of the photo. I have Googled Ft Bliss and found the railyards and deployment terminal(they have been finished for over 5 yrs now)still in construction. I think they keep the photos out dated.

Actually I have hundreds of more rock climbs under my belt. I've surfed
less than 10 times in my life though always had respect for the big wave
riders.

No, they are spectators watching a contest. They are safe from the wave because they are positioned in a deep-water channel that cuts through the living reef---the spectators sit where the water is too deep for the wave to break (that is where the surfers paddle out too). Teahupoo is an example of what is called a "reef-pass break".

So the surfers paddle out here and get towed into the wave?

Most tow-in, but a few ultra-maniacs paddle-in even on big days! Eek

~~~ CJ Hobgood paddles-in at Teahupoo ~~~
Past a certain size, though, no human being can paddle fast enough.
Heck no ... it's a screen capture straight from Google Earth! You can easily see individual houses, trees, small boats, and vehicles. Possibly even individual soldiers on patrol.
Then it appears there is possibly a legitimate concern regards this
threads topic. Do you use Matlab for image processing?
Yes after processing they are more clear.
With respect, NAVBLK4, there is no need for MATLAB processing anymore.
I undertook to respond to your post with an even *better* picture of that same bridge.
It took me less than two minutes, using plain-vanilla for-free Google Earth, to acquire this oblique-view screen capture, using no imaging-processing software whatsoever.
~~~ Iraq from 200 meters ~~~

NAVBLK4, for at least the past two years, it has been perfectly feasible for *anyone* in the world to fly *anywhere* in the world, with similar 3D viewing resolution, for *free*.

Gosh, the whole surfing community uses Google Earth software to locate remote wilderness surf breaks. Archaeologists use Google Earth to locate new dig sites. And *many* nations now have this satellite imaging capability.

For better or for worse, it is pretty clear that this horse cannot be put back in the barn.

One saving grace (that others have noted) is that these images are not real-time --- typically they are at least a year out-of-date. My understanding is that Google is reasonably responsive to requests to delete/fuzz sensitive information.

Where Google's ultimate loyalties lie---or the loyalties of any multinational corporation---is not known.

Well, kids, it's time to put Star Trek technology into action- cloaking devices, protective shields, etc. What was that in the New Testament...something about how the things that are done in secret will be shouted from the rooftops?

With Simulink, Modelink and Blocksets, driver code of 500 lines or more can
be generated in seconds. Also the signals through the air are able to be viewed
so to analyze filters and particles through the air or other medium. This is not
sniffing. There are various other languages used for these applications, however
Matlab is still the language for processing other than the signals as of 6 months
ago. BTW Matlab ans = fi(pi) should extract all processor Word sizes which are
hardware in the loop.

Thank's for the further description. Now it does not look as a threat.

Their images I don't think are the concerns. 200 meter satellite, that's not even in stratosphere yet. Would a satellite not be burned up and non functional at 200 meters?

They are a US corporation and probably have no loyalty other than providing
excellent data base applications, and it's not my business now to determine were their
loyalty stands.

By far tis is the best pic I have ssen yet. I read the text embeeded as I replied about Europa Technologies. Word Nav. The yellow text on tan is nearly invisible to see. In replies however it comes in in black and white. I can't believe no one has moove don this as of yet. Google is the least of our problems at this point. As for up to date intel for civilians , for now anyways. This is it! Word! A+ on the article.
