This will make you sick. I would like to know how long the Condo's have been there.
bostonherald.com/news/regional/view.bg?articleid=1210204&srvc=rss Apparently some residents of a "posh" condo in Charleston, MA are crying about the noise from the cannons of the USS Constitution, aka "Old Ironsides". The cannons are fired at 8 a.m for morning colors and at sunset each day. The USCG base is very close and we syncronized our bos'n pipes/"Colors" to start on cue from their cannon blasts. Gotta love it. I guess if they, the condo rats, win this battle, they'll move on to shutting down Logan Airport, maybe even have vehicle traffic re-routed for their comfort.  Don |

I'd simply note that not all feel the same way ... however ... if the decision is made to silence the guns in Boston, We'll be happy to have Old Ironsides move to Alabama! |

Maybe they are just pointing the unloaded cannons in the wrong direction. Maybe a 12 pounder cannon ball through their front windows, OOOOPS!!!! will move them along their way.
 They can always go to the Malls at 8am. |

The inevitable conflict of growth vs. tradition. They'll work it out.
There's a square-rigger in our region with working 6-pdr deck guns. They have to be careful where they fire them because, even with a blank charge, those guns will set off car alarms. |

In no way should these guns be silenced. The scumbags that complain need silenced, how about broken jaws for all of them.

If they don't like it they should be happy they wait until 0800 to fire it. Our cannon is fired at 0630 when the flag goes up. On special occasions like the Veteran's Day run we did on Thursday 21 cannons are fired, they set off car alarms and get every dog on post barking.

True. I use to hear the guns at Damneck fire all the town from my home, didn't bother me a bit. |
