Sailor or a Soldier?

That looks like an Army uniform. In any case, hats off to him and best wishes for his family in their time of sorrow.

Domestic Violence calls are the most dangerous calls for Police and EMS. You always have to keep your guard up when caught in the middle.

RIP.

You must be reading a different post than us. I do not see anywhere that he was in the army in 1990. It looks like an army uniform to me.

yep its an Army pic. Atleast I know where NOT to move to. I wish that family the best. I think though that, that city has the project exile program going. Which means that the murderer if found guilty will be serving federal time or I hope is executed.

Terrible turn of fate, truly tragic for his loved ones. He was doing the right thing and those perps took his life. Some may say one should look the other way and be safe, but what type of people and society would that give us? He did right, in his service to our country and to his family, but those b******s are the ones who threatened innocent life and HE tried to protect innocent life. Honors to him and my sincere condolences to his loved ones.

May the FULL measure of the Law be brought to bear on those POSs.

From a Veteran's Son, Brother & Father.

Justice over Vengeance,
Forgiveness but not Forgetfullness,
Survivors & Victims before the Criminals,
Innocent Lives over those who CHOOSE to threaten innocent life,
And the God-given means to apply just force to those who do threaten us & our loved ones...

wow...This is my city. I'm from phily and I left to go to college far away and get away from the always dangerous atmosphere. I'm a rotc cadet now...but had i not tried to get out of my home city...lord knows where/what I woould be doing with my life. This is a shame..as he is not the first "solid" dude to be a victim of some dumb incident. Man i have lost a few friends back home and that was lke 3 years ago n its even worse now.

The point of me saying all this is..for you folks in the military...it might be the best thing in your life..might be the shittiest but remember it can be a blessing and it prob is for most people. So be grateful that you are provided with a job and a exscape to see the world..among other benefits.

This is also because of the horrible school district system and lazy ***...low standard police force....ugh politicians

The same thing happened to a guy from my company in Basic Training. We all went home for Christmas, but he never came back... He got shot while trying to break up a fight between rival gang members at a McDonalds.

This situation is truly sad. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

First of all it doesn't matter what uniform he was wearing, he represented the USA. I truly feel for his family. As for the idiot that pulled the trigger, he should be sent to Iraq or some other hot spot and personally shoved into the first fire fight that came his way, since he is trigger happy.

I could care less what uniform is in the pic. A fellow service member was murdered while protecting his brother. There are more murders in a half a dozen cities in the US; and in a year we loose more citizens than in four years in Iraq and A'stan. WHERE should the priority be?

As for our sailor, I'll echo "what a waste".

Petty Officer 2nd Class John Marshall, 36, ......

But as someone said, the Branch does not matter.

He is a HERO who answered the call, and who died as he had lived, following his convictions.

Salute.

This is a tragic loss for his children, his family, and his community. Sometimes the good guys die. I shudder to think of the ripple effect this will have on those who were closest to him. It's just sad.
