Yes, it was politicians to the left of us and politicians to the right and nothing seemed to ever change.

And I suppose y'all are forgetting the 250,000 taxpayer funded jobs PBO created or "creatively saved". Wonder what will happen to those added by states with balanced budget mandates in the future? And I certainly hope the public remembers what got us here - Frank, Dodd, Schumer and a Pres. and Congress with no political cajones. Most posters with no ideological agenda blame both parties for this fiasco and the resulting job losses. The real issue is that the politics are getting in the way of actual job creation legislation since there is no unions in small business, the engine of job creation.

Now, comon. North Dakota showed a increase of jobs. Not to mention that their total population amounts to a fair size city.

I'm sure glad he found use for more than half of the stimulus billions Mr. Bush left him and the $700 plus billions he got a few months later. My poor brothers in the UAW suffered a loss of dental insurance. My daughter lost her job getting unemployment, (in which we are grateful) but no health insurance, let alone dental. She didn't get government subsidized payouts (severance pay) of $20 grand, no early full retirements with guaranteed Health benefits. I guess it's who you know.

So far this is his biggest contribution to the economy, making the unemployment lines longer.

Not doing a thing would have been harsh for some folks but would have served of doing as much as we've seen so far.

You will see the remainder to the stimulous just before the next election cycle. Good times for all thanks to the Dems. Not so good times for the millions of unemployed today, but the unemployment benefits have been extended.

True, but that was not the subject.

And you cannot complain about Obama's spending and give a pass to Bush. Remember who gave the first corporate bailouts.

I find it interesting that there has been discussion about extending unemployment benefits through 2010. While this is welcome relief to those in particularly hard hit areas, it also indicates that at least some people in the government do not have a rosey outlook of the immediate economic future. As a result I suspect that your suggestion regarding the stimulus may correct.
