Just heard on the news a short time ago.... yepper, the Post Office is going to raise the price of stamps by a penny - $0.42/ea, and I think they said on Sunday. Frown So much for being able to get into the post office and buy a batch.... HEY WAIT!!! they have those coin operated machines in the lobbies.... y'all better get there TODAY before they restock the machines.

They did say however the "Forever" stamps is good for, well, for ever....... glad I bought about 2 years worth.

Speaking of which - Anyone want to buy a book? I'll let ya have one(book) for $10 plus $4.99 shiping and handling -- hurry now, this offer is for a limited time only.

One Flag......One Heart......One Nation............EVERMORE

I can never use up a book anymore before the rates change. Of course that probably has as much to do with email as anything else.

The internet e-mail has truly wreck the U.S. Post Office! A few years ago the Post Office tried to regulate the e-mail by making it part of the Post Office so they can charge e-mail stamps on it!! Thank God that didn't work! So let them keep raising the stamps up. The only regret is that bulk/package mail can't be delivered yet like a Star Trek beam me up transporter and if that ever happen that would most likely put the Post Office out of business! Tooooo bad! Angel/Devil

E-COM (the Post Office's email service) was launched in 1982 and died by 1985. If you're talking about the hoax that was floating around almost a decade ago, about someone proposing a tax on email, that never happened.

What a crock. I still like to get bills and statements so that I have a hard copy and use them for referencing. Why should I pay to print them from my printer? I'd like to know exactly what the Postal Service charges for delivering junk mail. Until I see the numbers, it's their problem for delivering truckloads of crap and bulk mail for next to nothing. I'm talking about the sales flyers, services, and other stuff that I don't buy or use. Delivering as many Victorias Secret catalogs as they do every year, you'd think the the USPS would be rolling in money. However, I do prefer to ship and receive via Priority Mail over UPS. That UPS is another story, those SOBs.

WOW! I didn't know anyone even used postage stamps anymore, why send anyone a letter when you can just send them an e-mail, why mail in a power bill, phone bill, tax bill, ect when you can pay everything online?

I guess some things never change for some people, but I haven't bought a postage stamp in years!

Pay CA state tax online? They charge you more for that. I think it's 3% or minimum of $4.75. No thanks, I stuck a check in the envelope and put on a 41cent stamp. The IRS doesn't take internet payments. Give them permission to take it out of my account electronically, are you kidding? I do have recuring payment on cell phone, internet, car payment, and other bills. Sometimes things have to be mailed in, such as medical claim forms, supplemental insurance premiums, etc. When you have fundraisers for soldiers and their families, what do you do? You email your account information over?
I guess I should be happy that some of you have not used stamps in years, good for you. I have a buddy in Fort Benning right now, I'm gonna bet that he's happier getting real mail from me than emails. Are you guys going to send friends/troops virtual care packages via email, or actually send real packages? You tell me what you think the better morale booster is.
