The remarks by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, who's now retired, came in a new report that found that U.S. personnel tortured and abused detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, using beatings, electrical shocks, sexual humiliation and other cruel practices.

I would love to see the dynamic trio get what they deserve (justice), but I’m afraid nothing will come of it……..

Even if it is true which it probably is, why didnt the good general who feels so bad about it now, speak up then? Could it be that his conscience only bothered him after he didnt have to worry about losing his career and pension. Right or wrong, if you couldnt bring yourself to bring it to light then, shut up about it now.

Another person that was in a position as the investigator to bring to light 'accusations' during his investigation who now wants to regain some spotlight.

His actions are self serving and too late to be of any importance... of the prisioners that were interviewed all were released ~ 4 years ago... boy, MG, you did them a lot of good.

And for those of you who think we are not human and we don't have the capability/capacity to be cruel... you are wrong... but I had rather torture and interrigate 1,000,000 people to save one of your sons, daughters, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles, neighbors, fellow countryman.

I agree outlaws, they need to get over it... maybe they can find a pic of the people jumping to their deaths out of the World Trade Centers, of the crushed firemen, of Daniel Berg being beheaded... and grow a pair.

how can ANYONE defend torture?

"the old "if it could save lives" bull crap discussion is worn out and invalid...

it is fact that information ellicited fromn torture is unreliable at best.

have we truly become the tyrannical nation we are accused of being?

is torture TRULY beating in the hearts of the average americans?

or do we look for reasons to exolain such barbaric behaviour?

Donnie, Connie, Georgie & Dick know what they are doing is abhorrent, but they OK it "for National Security"

and when the war is done? do we keep torturing dissidents? pedophiles? murderers? Conmen? priests? Rabis? you? me?

How about giving a man who served this country for 34 years the benefit of the doubt? I understand how some of you don't understand what it is to serve your country, don't hold that against General Taguba.

I would give him more of the benefit of a doubt if he had made noise at the end of his investigation. Coming out now... it smacks of being an attention seeker.

You were an NCO, you know to take it up the chain of command, speak up, if your squad leader doesn't agree take it to the PSG or PL with your squad leader... don't air out your dirty laundry.

only an accusation from a disgruntal retired general, if this was fact why did'nt he speak up before retiring. No fact no judgement or conviction by any court of law. Does NSNN always believe everything he hears. "I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn real cheap"

I dont think anyone here is defending torture as much as saying that the general should have brought this out in the open long ago.

Hang on to that bridge...the congressional investigations are underway. Don't know if you have seen any of the testimony, but it's not looking good for the administration.

I hope, I hope, I hope!!!!!!

I would love to see this administration tried in a Nurenburg format!

Whether found guilty or not guilty it would serve notice on further U.S. administration that they had better be real sure of themselves before they condone and permit what the majority of the civilized world considers war crimes again!
