A hopeful sign that AQ in Iraq days are numbered.

That is as long as Congress lets them keep the pressure up..I hear now..if you shot someone, you are guilty of murder first and must prove you are innocent...strange way to run a war huh..

Wouldn't that be described as the classic textbook way to fight a counter-insurgency?

The war against al Qaida/insurgents was going to take time. The people need to wrap their heads around it and support the war until the finish. The coalition has them on the run and it is just a matter of time before Iraq will be a fairly stable area so our troops can begin returning home. I have a vested interest and I want to see my son back home safely too. But I do support the President and the military.

I hear ya man and wish you and yours all the best. But I don't see an end to the deployments anytime soon. There's still A-stan and that mess in Pakistan. I have friends in the 48th and they're getting ready to go again, A-stan this time. I think the iraqis may be gettin ready to tell us to not forget to write by the end of 08, assuming no setbacks.

How certain are you that the Iraqis you kill or arrest are really Al Queda? How can you distinguish between Al Queda and non-alQueda? Isn't al Queda really a movement rather than an Army in the sense that we consider armies as organized groups?
