Cool. Now, wonder who the special prosecutor is going to be that's going to head up the investigation of Armitage. |

It only seems that Armitage is Man Enough to admit he was a Primary Party in outting a US Agent. Bet he feels lonely, though he didn't seemingly act alone. You only have to "Search": Patrick Fitzgerald, Matt Cooper, Karl Rove, Ari Fleischer, Scootah Libby, The testimony from the trials, Fitzgerald's Opening Statement/Summation, the jury's finding and statments to the media, the judge's statements. But I will say in comparison to what they did TO OUR own Agent, WaterBoarding can't be considered Torture to them; I'll give them that. I do wonder if our High Level Govt Officials OUT another Agent will Conservatives think it's OK? Exactly How many have to be outed before it's deemed a Problem? |

Didn’t the Admin also say they would prosecute anyone that leaked the name…?
Even if charges were brought up…hmmmm…”it’s almost pardon time”… |

Nothing out of the ordinary with 'foolish' and 'White House' in the same sentence.

But Armitage was never convicted of anything. So, what pardon for him? In fact, to the best of my knowledge, unlike Scooter Libby, Armitage received no consequences for outing Plame.
Libby got nailed with something like a $200,000+ fine and time in jail - most of which will already have been served by the time W leaves office.

Remember when W said, “anyone involved in this leak” would be prosecuted to the fullest extent… That’s it…! So even if he or they were convicted…pardon…. clinton in the last days/hours of office, pardoned 140 people! |

What does this have to do with President Clinton? Seems to me the outing of CIA Agent Valerie Plame was done under George Bush's watch. |

while it was wrong to "out" Plame it really was not some horrible damaging thing. Plame was not at any time a covert agent or participated in any clandestine ops. She was basically a desk jockey with "travel benefits" She worked counter proliferation and everyone knew who she worked for both in Athens and in Brussels which were her only overseas assignments, which to her credit was as a handler to some who actually were covert. Revealing her really wasnt a big deal other than it was technically illegal.

Even if charges were brought up…hmmmm…”it’s almost pardon time”...Ahhhh, yea...! (W...?) The point was, that if these guys get indicted, go to trial, get convicted…that pardons could be granted by the POTUS. The example of clinton was to show how many were passed out during his last days in office. Read the links… http://www.usdoj.gov/pardon/clintonpardon_grants.htm http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/02/21/clinton.pardon.03/index.html Clinton issued 140 pardons and 36 sentence commutations hours before he left office January 20. http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/stories/01/20/...on.pardon/index.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/20010120/aponline104904_000.htm and the 2nd point…I’m wondering how many bush has / will issue…? http://www.fas.org/news/iran/1992/921224-260039.htm http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/09/28/politics/main889049.shtml I AM NOT A FAN of rove, libby…or any of these power hungry, (rep or dem) DC fanatics! |

the point is, the independent investigation was inititated and Patrick Fitzgerald was responsible for identifying those responsible for leaking Plame's name. Fitzgerald did NOT identify Armitage as a leaker; hence, no persecution. In fact, Fitzgerald did not identify Scooter Libby as a leaker. Libby got busted for lying to the Grand Jury; not leaking Plame's name.
So, this isn't about W or Clinton; it's about why Fitzgerald never, to this day, bought charges against Armitage even though Armitage publicly admits to leaking Plame's name to the press.
