This has to be some of the worst reporting, I've read in a long time.
Why not simply title this article, "Interview with the Victim's Mother". Because lets be honest with ourselves... that's all it was. Every major fact, and story detail, came from a single source. The author of the article, Franklin Peirce, made no attempt to tell us if he contacted the investigating officials, the defense attorneys, or verify any of the mother's story. Talk about a bunch of hacks, pretending to be reporters.
And secondly, what's with people already convicting the guy in the court of public opinion? I seem to recall a lot of people here on Military.com, getting very upset when the public jumped the gun over the Marines in Haditha. "Wait for the trial and all the facts!" "At least give them the opportunity to tell their story!" were said countless times.
I guess the captain in question, is undeserving of the same?

Well, let's start with he was CHARGED WITH MURDER, not suspected! I don't think there is anything the Capt. can say that can justify that type of behavior on a civilian, let alone his WIFE. What a disgrace to our fine ARMY. I am proud as an American, they did not try to sweep this under the carpet! I met this guy once and he indeed was an oddball; stand-offish, condesending. Not sure how he got to be Capt. status. Perhaps military family influence.
This type of behavior against women usually begins in the home (with the father beating the mom). Wife beating is seen by the child as acceptable. I actually knew the Lea for 3 years. As an American living in the Philippines, I can't really see her deserving this type of attack, no matter what she may have done to get her husband's attention. What kind of beast kills his wife who he took a vow with? There is this thing called DIVORCE (or annulment as they call it here) that most of the balanced people use when circumstances come about that require action! I bet, if we hear back from the Gray family problems in the media, we will see he was taught it is "OK" to beat up your wife and perhaps, being an over-achiever, he wanted to top his "old man". It time for the Gray women in this family to speak out... Let's stop this sick type of love. Who else in this family has been abused? SPEAK OUT NOW. It is your time to do it without consequence. The media is on this!!! Amaw

It is a horrible article and tells us nothing about the actual charges and situation. Just that he returned from Iraq, moved to Korea with his family and that she came up missing on Apr. 20th. Was he sick mentally? Was he just as azz? Of course, I don't agree with anyone beating their spouse or loved ones (men or women). I think that it shows incredible weakness to not control your own actions.

Ahh! A new meaning to a word, "Charged" is defined as "convicted." Who knew?
I hope justice is done on this case. The Cpt. killer guy is said to be a nut case, the rumors is that he trying to get out of this one, and has anyone though of letting the media involve.

Agreed, the article says absolutely nothing about anything really, other than the little girl is safe and he has been charged with her murder, not convicted. I doubt any news will come up soon about an on-going murder case... My thoughts and prayers to the family and especially that little girl.
