Borihahn said a police report indicated that the stolen car is a 1989 GEO Metro, and the suspect is armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Carrying Concealed, like the Castle Doctrine is different for each state. The Castle Doctrine first came back into existance in Montana back in the early 80s and has expanded nationwide. I think there is around six states that has not yet passed a castle Doctrine. Some doctrines are considered strong and some are weak as in 'with restrictions'. The Castle Doctrines are something completely seperate from State CC.
Anyone interested further into this subject about the Castle Doctrine can easlily do a search as 'Illinois and the Castle Doctrine' or whatever state you live in. I did a search by asking, 'Landlords and the Castle Doctrine' and I posted just two sites of many that came up.

There is a difference with private business property, private real estate that is your own domicile and property that is rented out. When renting out property to the 'public' those individual rights of the renter, either state or federal, has to be followed.
PLEASE!!!!! don't anyone bring up 'no pets allowed' again. Pets are not covered by either the 2nd Ammendment or any state's Castle Doctrine.

btw, business owners have the right to post a no weapons allowed sign in their place of business and this is done because usually the business is in a state with CC but this does not include a person's domicle, completely two different animals. And those that do post 'no weapons allowed' in their business windows are only keeping out law-abiding citizens that do have a CC permit and allowing crooks, punks and robbers in with an invitation knowingly that no one inside is with a their CC weapon. There are hundreds of thousands of people who carry concealed and most will not patronize a place of business where they or their family could be confronted with a criminal. In STL lately, many women and couples have been robbed and cars hijacked at gunpoint just walking to their car after eating/shopping. Punks would just as soon kill you with not even a bat of an eye these days. You are nothing to them.
