I have always said and still say that fighting terrorist is NOT a military solution. The only way we will ever get the upper hand and eradicate the terrorist is thru covert operations to identify, locate, isolate, and eradicate the terrorist.

dont need to invade if its gets too bad they will let us know... but they are doing all what they can do.... in fact if we went into pak in full force or not it would upset the area more then help it...

If we trully take the "stay the course" route. We will have to demolish the whole middle east before this war is over. Which i dont have a problem with Big Grin It just might be a tad more expensive and involved than the American civilians can stand.

I doubt very much that the CIA was involved. They aren't the suicide bomber type. There more the 800 yds away with a sniper type. Pakistan is a strong ally on our war on terror. If Butto would have taken over the government would that have been benificial to our cause or not. If she had gotten into power then was assasinated there was the possibility of the Pakistani government having gone over to the fundimentalists and with that government having nuclear weapons that is something we must not allow. I mourn her death, but until al quadi and taliban are eliminated we need Pakistan on our side. Wether it be a dictatorship, military government or democracy. The fundamentalist jihadists cannot be allowed access to a nuclear arsinal.

Have you heard of the Bay of Pigs? It is standard operations for the CIA to train and fund militants... just look at Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, we funded and trained them in the 1980s to fight Iran and Soviet interests.

With that kind of reasoning we could accuse the CIA of any and all assassinations dosnt make it true though.

Sure I have heard of the Bay of Pigs and saw some of the things that the CIA did in the Nam. I don't think the CIA was even a little involved, but there is a possibility that the current Pakistani government had a small hand in it. But moreso the Taliban who consider women second class citizens and would consider a female leader an abomination to Allah.

Helez, that is just about the dumbest thing you've ever said. What possible motive would CIA have in killing her. She was the best thing for Pakistan and for our relations.

Today the world has lost a great woman ... a woman who defied the traditions of her male-dominated country and rose gracefully to a position of leadership. An accomplished woman, educated in the US, who only wanted to put her skills and knowledge to work in sesrvice to her country.

Her death was a question of "when?", not "if".

If Musharraf is not directly involved, her still has blood on his hands for not providing her with the security forces she requested and needed. Her death is very convenient for him as he continues to play political footsie both with the US and Al Qaeda.

Maybe not so dumb. Does anyone still think we will not open another front and be fighting in Iraq, Afganistan, Possibly Iran, and now Pakistan? Keep in mind they have 60 warheads and what better excuse would we need if the bad guys took control? Certainly would be reason to reinstitute the draft. And now with the bad guys in control of warheads and if one ended up in the US,no explaining where it came from. Walla. Martial law, constitution out the window, elections here stalled for the duration, War, Profits,Kias. 200,000 Pakis in the US pizzed, turmoil. Probable Naaa, Possible? you can bet your azz. So before we come down on Helenz thoughts look outside the box and explore all the possibilities. And give her credit for at least thinking.

If they were such great allies Wheres Bin Laden after all these years?

your post wouldn't have been so far off the wall if we had something to gain in all of this, but how is destabilizing a NUCLEAR muslim country in our interests???

Have you studied Lawrence of Arabia in World History? Basicly constitutional problems were occuring during WW1 prolonging the war and adding to body counts. No conspiracy, just changes in political and legal powers.

I was being sarcastic to what Helez posted. He thinks the CIA was involved in her death.

Sounds like the description of a snake-oil salesman. The Bhutto family has a long history of involvement with Pakistani politics and corruption. As with most affluent landowners, they see themselves as above the masses and born to lead. Being a populist made her dangerous. She shouldn't have returned. Now they have a martyr to deal with.

None of what were doing after afganistan is in the interest of our country. That fight them there or fight them here slogan is BS. But since were in the war mode heres a few possibilities.
Once the bad guys are in possesion of 60 warheads how can anyone dispute expanding the war on terror to pakistan?
Also it would make a draft more appealing that we desperately need and polititions are afraid to touch. Thats two possibilities.
A third might be if a nuke was detonated on our shores as they claim will be No one would be asking where it came from.

:-),
ok I see that. I also see web monkey John is over here now.
Stay tuned perhaps a conspiracy could start.

It was a conspiracy the moment it was posted. I love these handles unless your a brainless boob and refuse to think outside the box, your a conspiracy nut. We live in a world of deception and there are always more than one possibility for any given occurence. Thats why we have detectives and anaylists. and then we have those to petrified with fear to consider the possibilities of the unthinkable realities. As Fields once said, THERES ONE BORN EVERY SECOND AND TWO TO TAKE THEM. Its Times like these that I am so grateful for being born in NY getting the education of a lifetime on the streets, instead of learning to milk a cow on some farm in Iowa. Something money just cant buy.
