"I wonder sometimes whether the Nixon tapes really will just continue to be the gift that never stops giving."

"It was perhaps fortunate from a Republican point of view that the latest batch of Nixon White House tapes was released in a week where more pleasurable and entertaining Republican "scandals" were diverting us all."

Yeah so great so wonderful. I drew many of these same conclusions on my own before even reading a lot of the so "left wing" articles. Good thing I am not a Democrat, my view could possibly be one considered as bias.

Where's the beef? That's a discussion, not an article.

1974 / 2004 The party has not changed a bit, which is the point.

The Ho chi Minh trail didn't venture into Cambodia or Laos. No wonder I get lost I can't read a map. Don't put the blame on America, the killing fields were stricly a communistic party thing with the Moscow politburo referee the between Pol Pot and North Vietnam. Sometimes once the monster is out of the cage, its hard to get him back in.

You are aware that we condenmed the Vietnamses invasion of Cambodia? You are aware that we demanded that Pol Pot retain his UN seat?

You are aware that China and Vietnam fought a war?

Oh how silly of me. Each leftist, let alone each communist are all turned out in a cookie cutter machine.

Ahh well, maybe he's waiting for you to figure out how someone called, "His Royal Highness," is not a King; with his successor bearing the title of "Crown Prince."

Maybe he's waiting for an example of manning-up?

Be a good sport, and THEN maybe no one will think you're just a pot calling the Kettle black.

The party has not changed a bit. Hummm...CJ may have a point. When Nixon resigned it was only after it became clear the the GOP would not support him. Many Republican Senators had already met and convinced fellow senator Barry M Goldwater he needed to convey that message to the President.

Even today if an elected official, even if that person is a Republican, can not count on the support of the GOP if they act as Nixon did. Good point CJ. I agree with you!

The Nixon tapes tell us absolutly nothing about the republican party other than the high level of integrity of the Republicans!
