The public doesn't want the Public Options as discribed the last six months of Town Hall Meetings, Tea Parties and the Congress Committee's of both Houses being split. So Reid takes this to mean he can pass the bill, like it or not. It's purely a numbers game having little meaning of what's good for the country. Funny thing happened the other day in the Senate with little or no publicity. A bill cutting Doctor's pay for Medicare patients to the tune of 21% gain little press or headlines. It failed 47 to 53 votes in the Senate but could you imagine this becoming law. think hard on "public options" for then a bureaucrat will dictate policy and the Doctors pay getting cut just another day at the office. They say Medicare will not be solvent in three years but with the $90 billion fraud each year tax payers might want to take another look at it before deciding on more D C bureaucracy in national health care. A recent survey said the old folks like their Medicare, but I'll lay odds 10-1 that Granny and Grandpa has secondary private insurance. Cutting pay and services will lead to another "Medicaid" program where MOST Doctors and hospitals decided not to participate. You might stay in budget but the Doctor might have web feet. Every State of the Union and most foreign powers are disappointed in their health insurance having to revamp or go out of business. they don't have a bottomless money pit plus having to balance their budgets. |

Really?
GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN LIKE MEDICARE Now 9/2009 8/2009 7/2009 6/2009 Favor 62% 65% 60% 66% 72% Oppose 31% 26% 34% 27% 20% Curious how you arrived at the conclusion that the American Public doesn't want a public option? <http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/10/20/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5401123.shtml> |

That link is about Reid pushing for the public option. Where does it have current poll numbers as to whether or not Americans want the public option? That's what Doc was referring to, and the fact that I replied for. But you seem to not get that. I guess you're a moron. Thanks for calling me a genius though. That's not entirely accurate. But I appreciate the sentiment. We cant all be smart, as you have worked hard to prove |

Hey smart guy, we have an unfinished discussion on another thread reagarding Timothy McVeigh's "motivation". Care to re-join that? Since you're throwing the "moron" tag around, I just thought I'd ask... |

Do you remember a thread a few weeks back, it noted that 60 some odd% showed they wanted a public option. The same poll showed an equal number confused on public health reform. Folks want something, but the gov(both sides) sure aren't making it clear on what is what. |

Nah see Timothy McVeigh killed and wounded hundreds of Americans so he couldn't have been a right winger. I bow to your infinite wisdom. After all, McVeigh's own motivations aren't factual, just your biased imagined interpretations of something you know nothing about. Have a nice day. And yes, he's a moron. He can't read. At least you can |

That's for damn sure, but isn't it also likely that most americans have no clue how the system even works, let alone how to fix it? And that could be the source of the confusion. |

Say what you wish, I posted links to information from the actual trial to support my statements...and you posted none. That says it all. |

Absolutely, folks get a little information & go on that without the whole pic. You know what they say about a little information. You get Dems & Repubs playing up on the public's ignorance & fears. |

What gets me is that the government can't even run the government well....that some would want to give them health care is beyond me. Instead of sucking in the whole health care system, why not address Medicare/Medicaid fraud(because of the monay that would save the taxpayer), deregulate so that insurance companies can sell across state lines, then deal with tort reform...those steps alone would drive the costs of health care down. Then, take that money that's been saved by cutting back on fraud and use that for a public health care system for those that need it...problem solved.

Doc's percentages are hard to beleive due to July, Aug and September the poll was holding steady at 52% of those wanting NO PART OF GOVERNMENT reinventing of the Wheel.
Now, there is a Democratic poll (of and for Democrats) that follow Doc's prescription. Question Independent's and 62% says nada. Repubs basically disfavors anything that Reid and company conjure. Can't blame them with the attitude of Dooms day option in the Senate verifying a totalatarian system to get what they want. We've fought wars over things lesser. Once this gets in the joint committee of both Houses you're liable to see anything come out needing a simple majority to pass. Out front in the debate will be "option out" for the States. How in the sam hill can they option out when there no way of telling what the plan was, is or, going to be. |
