Wolves are being hunted legally in several states now. They are reproducing exponentially, and large pacts are creating a certain amount of threat. There was a young man recently killed and partially eaten by wolves in either Canada or Alaska recently while walking near the small village where he was living - -

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/saskatchewan/story/2007/11/01/wolf-verdict.html

A coroner's jury in Saskatchewan has determined that Ontario university student Kenton Carnegie was killed in a wolf attack.

Carnegie was 22 when he died in November 2005 near Points North Landing, Sask. On a work term for a company at the mining exploration camp, located about 750 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon, Carnegie went for a walk and didn't come back.

Searchers later found his body surrounded by wolves.

holy crap..... they can get that big?

There you are minding your own buisness, when you walk around a corner and something as big as you, but meaner and hungrier, is looking at you like a snack. It sends shivers down my spine at the idea of being eaten by animals. ewww.........

He should really consider him self very lucky. Might be big but that wolf could have had a jump on him before The hunter even knew what was happening.

67, maybe you need to eat a couple of those burgers that are shown in the other thread, or just carry a pistol. Big Grin

Did a little investigating (online) and while many speculated this was a photo-shopped pic, it isn't! Even the tail is huge! It covers almost all of the hunter's right leg. TAHT is why I carry a sidearm when walking the North Woods!!!!!!!

Pretty awesome, if 'ya ask me!
