"Bagdasarian used the computer to post threatening messages on a Yahoo Finance message board, including one that read, "He will have a 50 cal in the head soon," and 20 minutes later posted a message that read "Shoot the n----- ," said Assistant U.S. Attorney William Cole.

SAN DIEGO - A La Mesa man who posted racially charged comments on Yahoo about killing Barack Obama during last year's presidential campaign was sentenced Monday to time served and ordered to spend 60 days in a halfway house.

Walter Bagdasarian, who was convicted July 28 of making threats against a major candidate for president, was also ordered to pay a $500 fine.

During a search of the defendant's home, agents found six weapons, including a .50-caliber rifle, Cole said."

"Others who were reading Bagdasarian's writings told him that law enforcement was monitoring the Web site, and one reader even told him that he was going to report him, the judge said."

Not nearly as long as it should have been nor did it cost him as much as it should have.

NOW THIS IS THE GUY THEY SHOULD PUT UNDER THE JAIL!...
Anyone who actually threatens the President of the United States, whether you voted for him or not or think that his policies are the worst in history, should be locked away and psychologically examined...
Not the guy who shot his mouth off at the coffee cart at work...
This guy was a real threat and had broken the law by posting the threat...
The idiot at the coffee cart may have been an azzhole and a big mouth but, that still isn't a crime in this country, no matter what some people might want to think...
IMHO...
Respectfully, SUNLINER81

I agree, the guy made a threat reagarding a 50 cal round in the head....and they found a 50 cal rifle...1+1=2...I'd consider that a very serious threat.

ya hardly even a clunker check!

My personal opinion, there should be a law that these types of threats be punished with a noose.
