Applause
I guess they must have their hourly dosage of hate spewing and vitriol, otherwise they may burst.

Well you need to "stand and deliver", mmulder. Listen to Palin's resignation speech again. She mentions "Trig" in it -- "especially after the family recently had to see/listen to their little baby brother being mocked by some pretty mean spirited adults" (In the video right after she talks about polling the family for a vote.)

aggie_swife as much as I dislike what Letterman said he was commenting on a news story that Ms. Palin's DAUGHTER was with her and assummed it was the OLDER daughter, I don't think he is dumb enough to say that about someone as young as the younger daughter. Stupid for not checking but he does NOT do news and fact checking is NOT part of his show or what his writer do.

So a mother and daughter attend a sporting event and are therefore subject to disgusting and repugnant comments by a second rate political hack? Whatever you may think, the fact of the matter is that Letterman did make the comment about the younger daughter. Any belief to the contrary is merely wishful thinking.
YOUR mistake is to give Letterman the status of Political anything. He is an entertainer and unlike some NEVER claims to be anything else.
Ms Palin's mistake and that of the Repub party with Letterman was to try to turn a stupid uninformed attempt at a joke about the OLDER daughter into a media conspiracy. It turned what would have been a clear issue in favor of Ms. Palin and her family into a whine that took the focus off of what Letterman said and did and put it back on the appearance that both Ms. Plain and the Repub party were making excuses and playing the victim.

I'm afraid your excelent comments will be ignored by the slithering left!

What I find intriguing is that the left has legitimized the vilest treatment of a female politician imaginable simply based on disagreeing with her politics. Were they to apply the same standard to one of their own it is highly unlikely that the result would be much different than what we have seen with Palin. What we have seen are liberal politicians being given a pass for the most appalling of lies, such as Biden claiming his wife was killed by a drunk driver or Boxer’s husband making millions through government contracts. Subject any one of these individuals to a non-stop barrage of false allegations, semi-factual stories and blatant lies all wrapped around highly sexualized commentary and you can be sure that the “civil rights” organizations would be crawling over each other to defend them. That they have be silent about the treatment of Palin is an indictment of their lack of concern for the majority of Americans.

I made no mistake, Letterman is a clearly a spokesperson for the liberal left. His claim to be a comedian is at best a farce. His monologue is little more than a mean spirited diatribe that caters to the basest human emotions.

Ha ha! Can you imagine the GOP nom race in '12? She'd be torn apart by her own kind, long before she got anywhere near Obama.

why? the dems nominated a self confessed dope smoker and cocane user and cheered and cheered and cheered!
Eek

Yes, but the dope smoker was a Rhodes scholar and a two term governor. The coke user was the editor of Harvard Law review and a US Senator.
Ie, they were QUALIFIED. Palin thought she was qualified to be Vice President because "you can see Russia" from her state.

President Obama was the President of Harvard Law Review, not the editor.

But can you tell me how holding that position makes someone "qualified" for the Presidency of the United States of America?

And it's so typical of the "slithering left."

Long ago I gave up walking upright in favor of slithering...

Of course when David Lettermen is referred to as a spokesperson of the left, I have to shake my head. He's s second rate comic, who is watched by a handful of people.

I just read Ms. Palin resignation speech, and came away awed. If she stayed on the job, she would be "a quitter." Well, that kind of logic may be appreciated on this board, I doubt whether the American People are going to be so kind.

If she had said, that she'e planning a run for higher office and it would be unfair to the people of Alaska to remain on the job, that would at least have had the redeaming quality of honesty. Instead she choose to pull an "Orwell," and describe quiting as not quiting.

Does someone have to be an English professor to shake their heads? Can anyone imagine what a Democrat would do with such a speech? Or for that matter what a Republican rival would do with such a speech?

Her defense on this board amounts to the same kind of convulted reasoning.

"She was assassinated by the media."

Lord, you guys are good.

I've scratched my head and wondered, "How in the world can she think she will be a credible conservative force, if she run out on a job half done with children having children - -???"

Then an intriguing thought came along - What if she ends up as a talk show host on a national TV station opposite of Oprah, Degenerous or one of the other multiple ultra-liberal rattle-trap stations to entertain conservative views and guests. I don't know that it would fly - but that would make some sense of this mess - -

Kind of like how the Rhodes scholar, US Senator and Harvard law reviewer thought there was 57 states?

Was he the first black President of Harvard Law Review? Was this another affirmative action token position?

Not saying it was, I had just heard that mentioned one time it one of those bio shows.

- Governor Palin has decided that she will not seek re-election as Governor. That's her choice. But, the Complainers would have a negative label of "Lame-duck" Governor to add to their criticism of Governor Palin.

Thus, I support and endorse her move.

- Her speaking engagement opportunities will bring her ten-fold (or more) monies to defend against the frivolous charges.

- She will be able to travel more in the Contential U.S. and build her political support.

- - She will speak for poitical candidates in the 2010 elections, thereby building her political support for a possible 2012 run for the Presidency.

I think she has made a good choice, and as the LIBERALS posting on this thread know and understand. she could become a very VIABLE Candidate AGAINST President Obama in the 2012 Elections. That is the point of these baseless charges. She is a "Threat" and they will continue to try to eliminate her as a threat to Obama.!!!!!

I hope she is successful!!!!!

She would be a ten-fold better President than the one we currently have in office.

From AProud Vietnam Veteran.

Agreed, she may be able to save the economy from Obama's disasterous policies and programs, it will take a very strong new president to reverse the current and on going collapse!

It is already to late, this country is already in the toliet, they just have not flushed yet. How can one tell? Read the posts here and elsewhere on these and other forums. There is no real hope and it seems that is just what we Americans want. We spout slgans "We be great" and in the next breath tear down everyone around use. We have put fools incharge for a few decades now, and each one is worse than the one before. We have a great military "on paper" that is barely hanging on and those in change are pulling hard to remove the rest of the capet out from under them. So what do you, we, me do? Carp about it and yet put the same morons that caused the failures, back in every 2 to 6 years like clock work. We as a people are going the way of the Dodo wehn we are more concerned about who survived on a fake survival program than what is be falling this country. We talk a lot but say nothing, we demand and yet do not follow up and accept the excuses given out. Like the alcholic that has a dead liver, we just don't realise we already are.
