IMHO she's a smug moron, not even worthy of a Jerry Springer type show.

Couldn't be for the sake of her family???? They press as well as some very vocal left-wing extremists have mercilessly crucified her children. Sometimes we have to give up on our dreams (for awhile) for the sake of others.

I wonder if she will start re-attending her Alaskan secessionist party meetings now?

What is it about Sarah Palin that those on the left are so fearful of? By any rational standard she is an accomplished individual who has risen from obscurity to political leadership without the benefit of a political machine or family wealth. Despite this fact oceans of ink and countless hours of blogging have painted as either a moronic talking head or a Machiavellian manipulator bent on political domination. Neither is true, yet the irrational insults continue, more often than not to the point of absurdity. Since being introduced to the national stage her treatment has clearly demonstrated the vacuous hypocrisy of the feminist movement, the total lack of journalistic ethics that now under serves this nation and that there is no longer a line between journalism, comedy and political commentary. It has also been amply demonstrated that our daughters cannot expect to participate in the political system without first surrendering any source of self pride that they may have. Personal values are not allowed and any thought of operating as an individual will be treated in the harshest possible manner.

The left won a well deserved victory last November yet now they are doing everything possible to squander it. Between the misogynistic diatribes that have come to represent what is apparently considered humor, thinly disguised infomercials being passed off as press conferences and a seemingly endless series of platitude laden speeches designed to placate the simple minded it will not be long until only the most fervent true believers will still be chanting the mantra. When that day arrives at least Sarah Palin will have retained her integrity, a claim her critics surrendered long ago.

But the treatment she got from katie couric and vanity fair was also uncalled for--and not to leave out letterman and one of our fine outstanding vets from the Vietnam era--kerry..who by the way had another intelligent (sic) comment to offer when Gov Sanford was missing--suggesting that it was too bad Sarah wasn't missing--or words to that effect!

I'm also curious crackerjacks! Was this picture why you were put on warning for thread disruption? Actually on second thought, it doesn't really matter why! I'm just glad to see that a mod caught up with you.

I don't know why, but after being around here all these years, it still amazes me at how nasty some of ya'll can be. Roll Eyes

Anyone in her position would have done the same. She never deserved the vile attacks she had to endure because of John McCain's choice to nominate her in the first place.

Do any of you even have a clue about who she was before this all started? Not likely. She, like a very dear friend of mine, was forced to do what she thought was right by not playing the political BS game that most of you buy into. Sarah, mother and wife, is going with her conscience and she is doing it for her family.

She is also doing what she thinks is best for us here in Alaska. She is not the politician Obama or McCain are, thank god. She cleaned up what she could here and now, thanks to her national exposure, she can do no more to help get the crook politicians here out of office. They now have a power they couldn't have had before with the haters in the lower 48 slandering her day in and day out.

If nothing else, she won't be around to be the focus of the hateful ugly pieces of crap who have nothing better to do with their time than slander someone they never knew. I wonder who the next victim will be?

I'm curious about this above comment. Just WHAT did Katie Couric do that was so unfair? Ask her whether the Sun rises in the East?

I mean really, for the life of me, can anyone of you Palin fans tell me what Couric "did" to Palin that was unfair?

Following the interview Couric has taken every opporunity to malign Palin whenever she has the chance. She has frequently referred to the interview in the midst of unflattering comments about Palin. Of course considering that her "career" in journalism consists of reading a teleprompter and pretending that Matt Lauer has a brain it is easy to understand why she has done so.

Oh, please spare me the "Palin fan" crap. I may not particulary agree with all of her politics, but I would prefer that my granddaughter be treated as a person rather than merely by her gender. The treatment of Palan has set the cause of women back by at least a decade.

All this is very nice. BUt what I hear is that Courics interview was "mean, unfair, "biased" "a hit job."

Ok. What did she do that meets the rhetoric of the above? I'm not baiting you, I really want to know. I didn't SEE the interview, but I sure have seen "hit jobs," and Courics format doesn't leave room for success to someone who knows up from down.

So, once again, can you answer my question?

Dave

It is irrational to enter into a discussion without the knowledge of what is being discussed. Accordingly, seek education on your own time and then we can have a coherent discussion.

I can't stand Katie Couric, she was on her way out and Palin saved her career, but not for long because even with a second wind she can't stimulate anyone long enough to watch her.

The only thing I don't like more than Couric is that Palin did not hold her own with Couric.

That was embarrassing when Couric was drilling her on McCains votes from the past and Palin was not prepared, then go to commercial break and McCain comes out to cover up.

Not a fine moment for the Reps.

Funny, Couric did not have Biden on and ask him of every vote Obama did.

View attacks McCain and dog piles on him, no bias there, would they have done it to Obama? We wont know because Obama did not come on during that period.

Ellen slams McCain over gay rights, but did not hold it against Mr or Mrs Obama when they appeard three times!

Just a few unfair moments, politics and the media in bed together.

All of this is very nice. But it's "rhetoric."

Did Couric force Palin to be on her show?

Mark this

I keep asking it, but what exactly was unfair?

It was indeed a very interesting day. It’s not often you get to see someone deliberately commit political suicide on live television with such a beautiful backdrop.
