It amazes me how many here condemn her and yet have never served in any public office themselves.

why would serving in public office be a requirement to "condemn" or criticize a politician?

As much as I hate Beck, Hannity and Rush I don't think they are required to hold a public office before they can "condemn" Obama or and other political opponent of theirs.

I never stated that it was a requirement. I opined that, by proxy, condemnation is best suited to those that have held the job themselves, and that speculation is never a quality horse to hitch your wagon to.

Mrs. Palin deserves the courtesy that you afford the CIC: that she does things that we may not agree with - but that we don't know her reasons should preclude our judgment. Most likely, she is simply tired of her family being drug through the proverbial mud so that some columnist can sell a story to anyone listening for dirt to crawl. Why must she suffer the indignation of those that hate/fear her?

All I am saying is that we here, myself included, are quick to judge the clean clothes without knowing what it feels like to tumble in a washer. OK, that's a pretty crappy analogy. But you get my point.

Let he without sin, glass houses, and stones...

It's not that there is no God or that He isn't listening. You're probably just asking the wrong questions.

That might be true of refrigerator repairmen, or a mechanic. But not the Governor of a state. I'd say ANY politician is open to condemnation or speculation.

Mrs. Palin can stop the speculation at anytime she chooses. all she has to do is say exactly why she decided to resign and not talk about some point guard analogy.

If Obama resigned I would say the same thing.

Because they suffered it when she decided to say they weren't "real" americans.

All I am saying is that she pursued a public life. She choose politics. and speculation after a politician abruptly resigns is a given no matter who or what party they belong to.

-snip-...

Then why did she give the reasons she gave in her speach and why did she cast herself as a victim?
MOST of the direct comments about her action have been either guesses about why she resigned, since the speach was unclear, or comments about the speach.
