As it should be...Civil Rights should never be determined by popular vote. If we had done that with interracial marriage, those laws would not have been overturned until the 1990s.

Then you don't believe in democracy where the majority rules. I've said it over and over but seems you can't get it through your head, majority rules. Adapt or change. Wink That's the way the cookie crumbles.

BTW SW, you were told over and over again, keep shoving homosexuality down our throats and the moral majority will shove it up your arse. Wink

So you actually believe that we, the United States, should have voted on interracial marriage and desegregation?

and again, you have been told over and over again....it's not the same but considering your sexual preference, you'll never understand that homosexuality is not in the same boat with interracial marriage or desegregation. One is race and the other is morality.

10 DAYS SUSPENSION NEMESIS

Why even answer him? He's an ass - and a hopeless one at that.

He trolls this board worse than the rabbit ever did. He posts on only one subject, and he doesn't post to convince or debate. His sole purpose is to rile you up. He's an idiot, and a miserable one at that. Why even rise to the bait. He'll die soon, and if there is a hell I hope he enjoys it.

he's like a little kid poking at an anthill with sticks. It makes him feel powerful to see their reaction. It's probably the only feeling of power he's had since he gave up his fiefdom at basic. He's a waste of human flesh, and you and I know that his point of view is archaic. Even people who vote the way he would do so for different reasons now, so why bother? He's a fossil, and a dishonorable, useless one at that.

Well, people other than the members of this board read it...reasonable people. These reasonable people, who might be on the fence on the issue, will see reasoned debate on one side and then they will see things like SSW posts.

Besides, its fun to see him try to twist over supporting "majority vote" for some things, but not others. Points out the hypocrisy. I wonder if how many here would support the divorce proposition here in California? (Which, BTW, got approval from the CA SOS for signature gathering. Awesome!)

I've been following that on facebook. What's even more awesome is the interview the guy had with the family Research Council. They're taking him seriously. Genius! I sooooooo hope it comes to a vote. Voting on banning divorce would be a bigger moral coup than allowing same-sex marriage. Whether we win or lose, it is still a moral victory because it points out the hypocrisy inherent in the "pro-family" position.

Did you really look closely at what they're attempting to put on the ballot? They not only want to vote to ban divorce, but also to ban common-law marriage, criminalize adultery, and forbid unmarried people of different sexes from living with each other for lengthy periods of time. And it's all for the chiiiiiildreeeen. I wonder how many "pro-family" people will really vote pro-family when this hits the ballot?

What I love about the guy is his ambiguity. He has called for a gathering at the capital I believe and talks about coming out and meeting "like-minded" individuals. What will be interesting to see is the pro gay marriage folks gathering and rallying with the pro "traditional" marriage folks. Guy's a genius.

Voted on a Constitutionally protected right? Why? That's why we have the Court system. If Gay marriage is a Constitutionally protected right, take it into the Courts & end all the drama.
