As it should be...Civil Rights should never be determined by popular vote. If we had done that with interracial marriage, those laws would not have been overturned until the 1990s.

I've been following that on facebook. What's even more awesome is the interview the guy had with the family Research Council. They're taking him seriously. Genius! I sooooooo hope it comes to a vote. Voting on banning divorce would be a bigger moral coup than allowing same-sex marriage. Whether we win or lose, it is still a moral victory because it points out the hypocrisy inherent in the "pro-family" position.

Did you really look closely at what they're attempting to put on the ballot? They not only want to vote to ban divorce, but also to ban common-law marriage, criminalize adultery, and forbid unmarried people of different sexes from living with each other for lengthy periods of time. And it's all for the chiiiiiildreeeen. I wonder how many "pro-family" people will really vote pro-family when this hits the ballot?
