I turn 23 in July and I was planning on doing Army ROTC starting fall of 09, when I will be 24. I have always been a admirer of the Marine Corps so I wanted to look into their ROTC program but I saw that you have to be under 23 when you start, so would I be unqualified? I know I'm not for the Army so it struck me as odd.
If that's what the age limit is, then yes, you're too old. All the services have different standards for age though, so if the Army accepts it, then good. What year of school are you going to be in? Depending on how old you will be when you graduate you might want to look into applying for Marine OCS if that's what you truly want to do.

To be a contracted NROTC midshipman, you have to be less than 27 on June 30th of the year in which you get commissioned. If you're already in college, you could still be elegieable to contract with NROTC as a marine option midshipman. Have you started college yet and if so, why are you waiting till Fall of 2009 to start ROTC? Is your goal to actually commission through ROTC, or just to take the classes and see what it's like?
