I really want to hand in my marine option NRotc application now but i dont know if my SAt score and Gpa is competitive. My SAT score is 1190 and 3.6 GPA. I know that they are having a selection board in November and February. Should I wait to take my SAt over again and if I get a higher score, submit it or should I just hand it in now. My PFT is about 260-270
Also If I wait, I figure I will have less chances of getting into the school that I want
What should I do?

Hand it in. See what happens. It is a risk worth taking.

1190 and a 3.6 GPA?! Yea, as long as your strong in other others like community service or something else, you should be fine. Even without community service, those grades are good. I've got a 1140 the SAT math and critical reading combined and a 3.08 GPA and my recruiter says I'm good. Get everything turned ASAP.

This is a bit of a threadjack, but do they calculate your SAT with just the math & reading, then score writing separately? Or do they combine them all so that a perfect score is 2400? They changed it long after I was done taking them, so I really don't know.

I would certainly hope you are talking about the old SAT, otherwise retake it. Your GPA is good, but I hope you have extracurriculars/leadership/athletics otherwise you aren't well rounded enough. But hand it in if thats the old sat (just english and math).

I didn't play sports and I got a scholarship. Do outstanding on the PFT- don't just hit the minimums, but strive to get the max scores in every category.
