The cape sucks when getting in and out of a Hummer, and the perky ears on the facemask get all scrunched when you put on a kevlar.

Unless you have about 10 million to waste on R&D alone, I doubt you'll get far with this.

Full body liquid armor, lightweight and truly bulletproof helmet, internal cooling and heating system, chameleon camouflage.

Got any of that?

Like I said, $10 million for R&D alone...at least.

no not realy, i made a shield that stoped fmj 38sp and 410 deer slugs along with 12ga bismith BB and its only 20lbs. it cost me 3 bucks worth of 1/8 6011 welding rod but it was worth it. its amazeing what the boiler plate off a hotwater heater can stop.

if the mill took my idea seriously i submited last year we wouldnt have the issue. but they dont seem to think that my idea was worth it. the reply i got basicly said "your idea will not be funded or supported."

if you think you can work it out go right on and try. iv got armor all ready planed and priced out.

So, with a shield made from a water heater, you managed to deflect or stop three different, very low powered, rounds. From weapons no military in the world uses anymore or never did use.

Did you try a 7.62 x 39? That's the most common round encountered by our Troops.

How about 7.62 x 54R? Another fairly common round.

What about IEDs? Did you set up your shield 10 feet away from 25 pounds of Semtex and see how it fared?

Fire an RPG at it?

The shields we used when I was on a SWAT Team, weighed 65 pounds and could stop a .308, a very commom hunting round.
They were not steel, they were a ceramic composite. A steel plate that thick, and large enough to hide personnel, would weigh over 200 pounds.
A .308 wouldn't even be slowed down by the thin sheet metal found in a water heater.

well i dont own an AK or any gun that shoots the 7.62 X 39

i did test it useing a .308 and it made a nice hole. so it failed i used a .223 fmj and it made a nice small hole.

i dont have my DD so rpg is not going to happen. i dont have a permit to make things like IEDs. i dont want to go to fed because i made a pipe bomb to test it (it would be fun to make one and set it off but i dont want to mess with that stuff).

some one said i cant make a shield that stops bullets so i did and it works (not very well but it works). i won 20 bucks from it and that payed for the ammo i used. if we could link outside of gov or mill sites i would post a link to the pics i took.

yes i know how heavy steel plate is i have some i use to practice welding on. i would use the same idea they use in tank armor. use layerd armor to stop more types of bullets. but sadly i dont have the money to buy the BP plates to test layering ideas. i also dont have a wide range of ammo and guns.

...a hot-water heater Batman suit...?

Personally, I think bullet-deflecting Wonder Woman bracelets and some high speed ninja training would go a lot further. Weighs less, too.

I'm New to this forum aswell and not American. So as an un-biased outsider so to speak, in an army that is known by everyone to do everything on the cheap "the Borrower's) even I can tell you that you should quite before you blow all your pocket money! It takes people with PHD, Dr etc. and MEGA bucks to come up with this!!!!!!!!!

I do find your idea commendable however, but find an easier project to start with.
