I have been researching boots for over a week now trying to find out what the best ones are, I am trying to get the most comfortable, durable, great for wear during training and operations I can get. I am in the SMP Program through the National Guard and currently finishing my ROTC College degree so I am basically doing Infantry work, so if anyone has any good advice you mind sharing? I was about to settle on the Oakley SI Assault Boots but too many people have told me that they fall apart too fast.
Any links would be great. |

Better check the regulations and see what is authorized, then make your choice. Some units, you only wear what our Uncle issues.

Been there, done that. Played the terrorism game...and kicked their A$$!![]() |
Oakleys suck (as do their sunglasses). Current issue is rather well built, along with the Danner Deserts.
Memo went out not too long ago, that forbids boots of "Tennis Shoe Construction". What ever that means (I presume soft soles and lots of nylon). I currently use Blackhawk Desert OPs. Great fit, fairly lightweight, waterproof, very comfortable, Vibram brand sole with cool tread pattern. Cannot be confused for "tennis shoe construction". Life ain't worth living, if ya ain't got a good cigar. |
