Has anyone loaded ammo for Glocks? I bought an G20 10mm and when I got the Lee dies it cationed against loading for glocks as the chamber did not support the back of the case. I noticed that the fired cases have a small bulge and this is the reason. Once the case hase been resized I would think it would be OK. But want some opinions.
Glock specifically recommendes NO handloads, and will null the warranty. You should never shoot lead bullets either, always jacketed.
Nearly all pistols headspace on the case mouth, so if you are getting bulges from your handloads, I'd back off a few grains. The 10mm is a powerful round, no sense in finding out how strong your pistol is
Life ain't worth living, if ya ain't got a good cigar.
I've done a lot of loading for 9mm Glocks. I found pretty quick that the load that worked very well in my Browning HPs (115 gr plated RN bullet at 1165 fps) would flop through the target sideways at 7 yds out of a Glock. Perfect keyholes every time with just the accuracy you'd expect. Going to a 147 gr plated RN at 900 fps gave me 100% functioning and great accuracy. And it shoots right on the sights.
Plain lead bullets are a big no-no in Glocks. Good reloads with plated or jacketed bullets won't be a problem once you've figured out what your gun likes.
All gun manufacturers say that handloads void the warranty. All that means is that their lawyers are trying to make a living.
